Free Music Notes for HeadstrongFree Music Review: GREAT album! Hit: 5 StarsWhat a great album! I would recommend this to anyone who likes pop music. It has a lot of catchy beats, and her gorgeous voice complements them well. Every track is something fresh!
Free Music Review: Wow she's really full of herself Hit: 1 StarsIf you check out the song called "Not Like That", you'll hear just how full of herself Ashley Tisdale truly is. She sings (not well I might add) about how all the girls are just jealous of her style and how she doesn't care. Well, if you don't care, then why are you singing a poorly written/produced song about it then? How does this Disney garbage even pass as music? I'm so sick of these annoying Disney "stars" who are on the Disney shows and movies and then all of a sudden they have a record deal. How they even get signed is totally beyond me. And it's pretty sad that people on here are giving this 4 or even 5 stars. Seriously America, stop using your eyes and start using your ears. Just because someone is pleasant to look at does not mean they can sing well.
Free Music Review: its really good Hit: 5 Starsthis is a really good album. i didn't know that Ashley tisdale was such a good singer! i hope she makes another album.
Free Music Review: CATCHY!!! Hit: 5 StarsI love this CD it is awesome so much better than I had expected. I cannot get some of the songs out of my head!!!!!!!! there are only 1 or 2 songs that I dont really care for, but other than that it is great!!!! I loved this CD so much that I am cosidering buying it, and I usually never want to buy any self-titled CD's
Free Music Review: 3-1/2 stars -- More accessible than I expected, but... Hit: 3 StarsI never saw any of the High School Musical movies because, well, I just didn't see a reason to, considering I don't have any kids (and my nephews live out of state). Anyway, Ashley Tisdale made the jump from playing Sharpay to becoming a singer, which seems like an easy thing to do nowadays but at the same time not the wisest decision. But her album Headstrong isn't bad.
First off, if you're a parent thinking about buying this album for your kids, you might only want to do so if they're in high school themselves because, well, you know how some parents got offended by Vanessa Hudgens saying "damn" one whole time on her album V? Well, Ashley doesn't curse on here, but she does tend to get into sensual territory sometimes (maybe it's because she's one of three main actors that was already too old to be in high school when the FIRST movie was made). At any rate, while I concur with K. Fontenot's review (although I give the album three-and-a-half stars), the best song on the album would probably have to be the hip-hop-inspired single "He Said She Said".
Other good songs include "Positivity", "Suddenly" (the necessary end-of-album mellow song) and possibly the title track. But there are also a few skippable tracks. The two-in-a-row of "Love Me for Me" and "Goin' Crazy" COULD have been good songs, but Ashley's vocals in them lack enthusiasm. "Not Like That" and "Over It" could stand some better lyrics, and "Unlove You" is cheesier than a pack of Kraft Singles.
Headstrong is an above-average album that could easily rock a Sweet 16 party, but if you watch VH1 more than you watch MTV Hits, B.I.F.
