I like Willie Nelson and I like Asleep at the Wheel. When the two got together I expected Texas Swing. Some of the songs are that, but others sound more like Ragtime. The oldies Right or Wrong, Shame on You, and Little Red Wagon made the tape worthwhile, though.Free Music Review: Wille, the car just stays on the road...

I love Willie Nelson and all that he stands for, but this album is not Vintage Willie. Then again, it makes no such promises. It's a good listen once, maybe twice, then it will be buried in with the old albums that I may, someday, replay. but not too soon. The musicians are all pro's, it's just not as good as listening to Asleep At the Wheel, and it's not as good as listening to a 1980's Willie Nelson album. The sum of the total is less than the two individuals.
