Free Music Review: A couple good ones - Far From AP's Best

This is my least favourite of all of Astral Projection's available discography, and, considering I have the rest of it, those words carry some weight. "Ionised" is an incredible song and the two ambient songs really, really grew on me ("Electronic" and "Ambience"). "Maian Dream" I loved at first, but is a rare case of an AP song that ages poorly; most of its appeal lies in its hard-hitting synths, but past those synth lines, there is little of interest, although the structure of the song is very idiosyncratic. There are a couple of other original tracks on this album, but they're exceedingly disappointing. What's worse is that the remixes aren't very interesting, either; they're not bad, but they're not terribly different from the original tracks, and I wouldn't suggest you waste your money on them. I suggest that, unless you are a diehard AP fan, you get only "Ionised," "Electronic," "Maian Dream," and "Ambience." At the very least, get "Ionised" because that song is a classic, while also representative of AP's general sound.
