Free Music Notes for Way Back to ParadiseFree Music Review: Audra is releases a compelling compilation Hit: 5 Stars
Audra McDonald, 3 time Tony winner at only 28, has taken the correct approach to her first solo effort. Instead of going with the standards, she breaks the norm and goes for up and coming writers. This recording goes from devistatingly heartbreaking story-songs (Come to Jesus) to uplifting ditties (Baby Moon). Her voice soars over every note....
Free Music Review: Wonderful.Simply Wonderful/ Hit: 5 Stars
When I first listened to the record, I immediately like "Stars and Moon" and "Baby Moon". I couldn't get in to other songs too much. But after listening, I now love "Tom" and "You Don't Know This Man" and like "Way Back to Paradise". Email me, please if you have any info on this wonderful singer!!
Free Music Review: Wonderful new songs from a soon to be legend. Hit: 5 Stars
Audra McDonald coats each note she sings with her honey-like voice. The songs included on this glorious cd are sure to become standards in the repertoires of future opera and musical theatre singers, but they will always be hers, as "People" is Barbra Streisand's and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" belongs to Judy Garland.
Free Music Review: An Absolute Must! Hit: 5 Stars
I fell in love with Audra's voice when I heard her sing in Ragtime. After this CD, I'm hopelessly hooked! Her voice soared in "Dream Variations" and captured the heart in "Come to Jesus." I enjoyed the music and lyrics from the current Broadway composers. All of the songs complimented her voice wonderfully.
Free Music Review: Audra: soaring beauty Hit: 5 Stars
Unlike many classically trained singers, Ms. McDonald has the control and diction needed for musical-theatre-type singing. She has a beautiful voice, unlike the nasal (and now quite common)Linda Eder type. One question: what does the phrase "He will save you just now" mean (in the song, "Come to Jesus")?
