Free Music Notes for August Rush: Music From The Motion PictureFree Music Review: Jonathan Hit: 5 Stars
You can say what you want about the movie - perhaps the film itself was wanting. What I found myself doing was playing and replaying the bits that Jonthan sings. A fan of the "Tudors" I was astounded and totally blown away by this guy`s magnetic attraction and chilling singing sound. What a revelation. I am going to buy the CD right away just to hear him again full-length. Wow.
Unlike the view of a fellow listener above, I was astounded by both the text and music of and above all - the voice behind - John Ondrasik`s King of Earth. I knew I`d heard that voice before with largely piano backgrounds ("It`s not easy to be me", which they played for a while on AFM, Germany) and was thrilled that I could finally put a voice with a name. You hear this stuff and immediately feel yourself touched by the grace of God and transported to place you`ll want and desire to go to again and again. Thanks Jonathan, for sharing. You're gorgeous and beautiful.
Free Music Review: A Rush of emotion Hit: 5 Stars
The critics haven't recieved August Rush very well, but the fact of the matter is that the one's that haven't have limited themselves. They complain of to little plot or underdeveloped characters. This is TRUE, and also what MAKES THE MOVIE. August Rush is quite simply, a feeling. It's the feeling of connection and a greater power. It's a feeling that there's something out there working to connect all of us. August feels it through music. If the plot got weighty or complicated or the charcters became a focus point then this feeling couldn't have been conveyed. The soundtrack works on many levels as well. It integrates classical, rock, and almost every other musical style together in a way that connects music as a whole, reflecting the movie's intentions.
August Rush is a must see. The soundtrack is a must have. Go get caught up in it's beauty.
Free Music Review: Awesome movie and soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
Upon me and my girlfriend seeing this movie, we were touched beyond words, and moved by how much I related and connect with "August Rush". If you notice, you can hear the style from a deceased Windham Hill artist, Michael Hedges, who innovated the style you hear when the boy is playing first to the suprise of two of the characters walking in and in the park with another character. This really is very important for this movie, and shows the connection the boy has with music both universally and emotionally. God loves us and one way is by allowing us to hear the music, because the universe echos with the sounds of music. A truly unique, awesome and beautiful movie that is at the top of my list. You will never forget this movie that will be a classic forever.
Free Music Review: It will have you fluttering! Hit: 5 Stars
I just saw the movie this afternoon and it is still tugging away at my heart! It was a really great movie, and people who like a clean, decent movie with a great story (that would never happen in real life but that is the beauty of it all) would really LOVE this. I am a hopeless romantic so of course I thought it was wonderful. The ONLY thing I didn't really like was the ending, it just kind of left you hanging there when all they would have had to do was add 1 more scene and it would have been a perfect ending. You'll know what I am talking about after you watch it. The actor who played August's (ahem-Evan) is really gorgeous. The chemistry between him and Keri Russell is very believable. I will definately be buying it the day it comes out on DVD!!!!!!!!
Free Music Review: An Amazing Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
The movie was great but what made the movie was the music. This soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks to come out in 2007. Jonathan Rhys Meyers voice is phenomenal. I believe they could have used Meyer's voice a little bit more in the movie.
Beyond the fact that Jonathan Meyer's has the voice. It also had a interesting variety of music. From Chris Botti to John Ondrasik (Five For Fighting). The blend of music fits perfectly. There were two different versions of Moondance one with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and the other with Chris Botti. The most underrated song from the soundtrack is from the Impact Repertory Theatre featuring Jamia Simone Nash. Overall no one song really disappoints.
