Free Music Review: Best Rock Album of '07?

Once again has a well established group of our generation chosen to approach a different angle of hard rock. And yes, I did refer to it as "Hard Rock". For all of the critics on here complaining that they are sell outs, and that they have lost their metal edge....get with it. If you are a true fan of music you will know that ALL bands end up different than they start. Musicians are human too, and because of it they age and mature just like the rest of us. This album's production quality alone gives it five stars. The tracks are extremely catchy and well put together. If you listen to this cd with an open mind you will like it through the first listen, and love it after the second.Free Music Review: Good Job for the Taken Task

Maybe it wasn't as good as STST or Waking the Fallen, but in this girl's honest opinion I much prefer the self-titled album to City of Evil. Don't get me wrong, I loved City of Evil, heck I love all of their CDs. I just can't seem to get enough of some of the songs on this album. Like "Afterlife," "Unbound," "Lost." I do agree that they really should have touched the country aspect as they did, it's just not them. Or at least it's not how I always thought of them. In all the whole CD is tight in the music, and Shadow's voice. It was also great to hear the other guys taking some more vocal power. So I think this CD is great, more so that they produced it themselves and did it their way.Free Music Review: Best album yet

This is by far A7x's best cd. The music is much more mature and has a more solid sound. The music is harder but there is a really diverse blend on here. I love hearing The Rev sing on a couple of these songs. The more I listen to this cd the more I love it and now I listen to it constantly. It is always playing in my car and on my computer. I honestly could not get into City of Evil. There were a few good songs on there but the rest were crap. There is not one bad song on Avenged Sevenfold. Even the very strange A Little Piece of Heaven has become one of my favs. I look forward to hearing the next A7X album even though the unbelievably talented Rev will not be a part of it :(Free Music Review: EXCELLENT

I don't know how anyone could NOT like this album. I guess maybe those metal heads who have yet to move out of their parents' basements and broadened their horizons a little bit. :-)
As should be clear from other reviews its all over the place musically, but somehow it all works and flows well. Every tune is hard edged, catchy, and musically brilliant. I wish I had half the talent these guys carry in their pinky fingers.
A7X have pulled out way ahead for me as best band of the "triple oughts", an other-wise duldrum decade for rock that has forced me to look towards other genres for music. Guess, they've done the same and it shows in this album. EXCELLENT!
Free Music Review: A Masterpiece

I cannot find a single thing wrong with this album. the only song that seems like its "just there" is Brompton Cocktail, but all of the other songs are just phenomenal and well done. my only complaint is that it is too short, but it is one phenomenal album. these guys have changed a lot since their first album, and if you still prefer their screaming and whatnot, you may not like this one. however, if you are like me and started liking them when they made city of evil, then you will love every moment of this album. this album grows on you, and if you know every song and then go see them in concert, that is THE best experience ever. they are PHENOMENAL live.
