Free Music Review: These guys throw on a way different live show
Hit: 5 Stars

First live show I've ever seen of them (seen some youtube clips before), cause it's hard to get tickets for them in San Diego. But this dvd is pretty impressive. From the Organs in Critical Acclaim to them all singing in sync on Afterlife, to the video and strippers on Scream, to the older songs from Fallen and Evil, to the ending encore with confetti falling in the background, this is definitely worth the money. They just have a different feel than a lot of bands live, They seem more real, have a lot of fun and perform like it's not a big deal. Not sure if this was a smaller venue or if it was the editing, but the dvd has the feel of your own personal concert. And Crossroads on the cd is a sick track worth the money for that single alone.

Free Music Review: well produced live rock dvd
Hit: 5 Stars

i have given this release a 5 star rating based on the amazing production of the live dvd. clearly the band has been heavily auto-tuned in editing (which i think alot of reviews here dont realise) never the less id much prefer watching this than a live dvd that has horrible mixing showing all the performers flaws.

i cannot spot the difference between "Almost easy", "Afterlife" on the bonus disc and those on the ST album. so im not sure what happened there. i have not yet listened to the rest of the Bsides disc.

Free Music Review: Live show good, Songs on the CD.. not so good
Hit: 3 Stars

I will admit I enjoyed the live show, they all sounded good and I found it interesting how they would trade off singing between the parts where lyrical switch overs were too close to cleanly transition. But the additional new songs they had on the CD... I wasn't impressed with any of them really, Until the end was semi-enjoyable but none of the rest really stood out. It just seems like those songs were probably left over choices from their recent self titled album that for whatever reason didn't make the cut. I hope whenever their next full-length album comes out that it does the band better justice.

Free Music Review: A7X In Their Prime
Hit: 5 Stars

This DVD, which was taken from a headlining show during the 2008 Taste of Chaos tour, shows Avenged Sevenfold at their peak. They've truly hit their stride as musicians and performers with this DVD. All the songs sound great. M. Shadows voice held up remarkably well. The only downside is that you will want to hear more songs. Songs like "Chapter Four" and "I Won't See You Tonight", which sound amazing live, are not on this DVD. I would've liked to have seen "Beast & the Harlot" removed and have one of the other songs mentioned beforehand replace it.

As far as the "Diamonds in the Rough" CD is concerned, don't think that it's an amateur attempt to boost DVD sales by throwing in a couple of songs that didn't make any other "official" A7X release. Any of these songs could have easily been on their last self titled album. For me, the high points on the album were tracks 5 and 6: "Until the End" and "Tension." It's a good album overall and combined with the DVD makes it worth the buy for old and new fans alike.

Free Music Review: So freakin good!
Hit: 5 Stars

Dont look at this like a simple b-sides release. It's that and so much more. Most of these songs could have easily been released with City of Evil of the ST album. And the DVD is great. Ive never seen them live, but they obviously sound just as good live as they do on the disk. Great songs on the disk. Great DVD. Just get it.
