Free Music Review: Avril Lavigne is a TRUE artist
Hit: 5 Stars

After 'Let Go' recieved HUGE support and sold millions of copies worldwide, you can imagine how much pressure Avril and her team had on their shoulders to produce and EVEN better album. They pulled it off though. 'Under My Skin' released to rave reviews and has already sold millions of copies around the world. Personally, I love this album. Avril's voice has definetly become more mature and her song writing on this album is more mature than her lyrics on 'Let Go'. These songs have a much deeper meaning and a more serious tone to them. I'm going to rate each song out of 5 to give you a summary of this CD:

1. Take Me Away - 4/5: Great song to open up with.
2. Together - 4/5: Another great song. I love how this song includes the piano.
3. Don't Tell Me - 5/5: 1st single off of this album. One of my favorites. Girls will definetly love this song... about being a strong woman.
4. He Wasn't - 5/5: Awesome song! One of my favorites. This song is the equivalent of 'Sk8er Boi' off of 'Let Go'. This song SHOULD be her 4th single off of this album.
5. How Does It Feel - 3/5: Not my favorite, but I still enjoy it. Too slow for my taste. But, the lyrics and her voice are great in this one.
6. My Happy Ending - 5/5: Her 2nd single off this album. I love it.
7. Nobody's Home - 5/5: Excellent song. My favorite off of this album. This song is amazing... lyrics and her voice. This is the 3rd single released off of this cd.
8. Forgotten - 4/5: Another awesome song. She can get her voice high on this one. This song reminds me of an 'Unwanted' off of 'Let Go'.
9. Who Knows - 4/5: Good song. More upbeat and happy. About living life to its' fullest and what not.
10. Fall To Pieces - 5/5: My second favorite song off of this album. This one reminds me of a 'Naked' off of 'Let Go'. Amazing lyrics and her voice is awesome.
11. Freak Out - 4/5: Another upbeat and happy kinda song. Good though.
12. Slipped Away - 5/5: One of my favorites. AMAZING lyrics. This one is dedicated to her Grandpa who passed away earlier. Very moving and touching song.

So that is the rundown of this album. If you love Avril, good music and REAL, TRUE artists... pick this one up. Peace =-)

Free Music Review: New Sound = A GREAT CD!!
Hit: 5 Stars

~Ok... this is a type of CD that you have to grow on the songs. If you didn't like it the first time...LISTEN TO IT AGAIN!! That's what happened to me..and after the second time I listened to it...I loved it! Yes, the songs are not as catchy as her first CD..there are no "Complicated" or "Skater Boi" songs, but that's not always a bad thing. The songs on her new CD have much more meaning and emotion into it. It's much more darker and deeper. But...out of her 12 songs...atleast half of~~ them have her saying "Na na na na" or "Ah ah ah ah ah" or " hey hey hey hey" or "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah" and everytime she sings this is when Chantal Kreviazuk helped her write the songs...she brain washed her into singing this...lol. Break down of the songs...

Take Me Away - 9/10 A good start...One of the most rockier songs...this is supposed to be her third single but I think there are better songs than this for her third single...

Together - 10/10 Great Song. Love the~~ part right before the chorus. A potential good single for her.

Don't Tell Me - 9/10 Her first single. Not as good as "Complicated" was but its a top 10 single right now...

He Wasn't - 10/10 A song that sounds like what Lillix would do...this is the song where she sings "Hey hey hey hey" (Lillix) A good song though. Nice chorus..

How Does It Feel - 8/10 Ok Song..one of her slower songs. Talks about how does it feel being different from her... Not her best song..

My Happy~~ Ending - 20/10 WOWWWWWWW!!! Awesome song. This is her 2nd single. My favourite song on the CD. This is probably the song that is most like "Complicated or Skater Boi". This has a potential to be a major hit!

Nobody's Home - 20/10 WOWWWW!!!! Another awesome song. This is the song with Ben Moody from Evanesence. Very sad and dark song...but very good!! Should be her third single..

Forgotten - 6/10 Usually skip this song..don't really like it...

Who Knows - 10/10 A good song. A happy~~ song!

Fall To Pieces - 9/10 The chorus is kinda blah...but the rest is good...

Freak out - 10/10 This song kinda grew on me. Like the chorus..

Slipped Away - 10/10 Another good song..song dedicated to her dead grandpa..~

Free Music Review: Didn't Make Me Jump... but Not That Bad Either
Hit: 5 Stars

Avril, Avril, Avril... why do I feel as if the songs sound mostly the same when I listen to them a lot? So Avril started out with a light, happy "Let Go" and emerged into this... "Under My Skin" a more mature, dark, yet still the same Avril. Still be the little 'punk rocker" as she calls herself. This CD is pretty good though. The songs sink deeper into you than the songs in "Let Go" do. Anyways, back to the review.

1)Take Me Away- Sounds like she's mad... okay though.

2)Together- Again, at the chorous, she sounds like she's mad.

3)Don't Tell Me- You all should know what this sounds like. To me it sounds very bland and easy to forget.

4)He Wasn't- Talk about light-hearted-ness! After three dark songs, this puts the CD on the lighter side again. Blends in perfectly.

5)How Does it Feel- I like it. It's quiet, it sounds good but even though it's quiet it's not like Norah Jones' music which is boring. This song isn't boring at all.

6)My Happy Ending- Even though it sounds happy and cheerful, listen to it a few times and you'll find that it is very dark and sinks into you.

7)Nobody's Home- I don't get this song. I hardly ever listen to it because of its blandness and somewhat boringness.

8)Forgotten- Plain okay, nothing too special about this song, not bad, not great, plain okay.

9)Who Knows- Love it, Again very cheerful and lighthearted. Fun and the lyrics teach you a good lesson.

10)Fall to Pieces- Okay, Gets sorta boring after a while.

11)Freak Out-Fun, doesn't mean much but fun!

12)Slipped Away- I love it. Pretty, very pretty, I like the part where it goes "now you're gone, now you're gone, there you go, there you go..."

13)I Always Get What I Want- This is one of two bonus tracks, this makes her sound like a spoiled brat... which maybe she is. Not my favorite.

14)Nobody's Home (Live Acoustic)- The other bonus track. Didn't like the original song, Don't like this either.

Overall, this CD is good. The blend of songs twist together perfectly into one enjoyable album.

Free Music Review: Another terrific album
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this album the first week it came out. At first I wasn't sure I liked it as much as Let Go, but having listened to it several times since then, I like it even more than her first album. On this album, Avril is able to take her music in a decidedly more grown-up direction while retaining its catchiness.

1)Take Me Away: a great album opener. One of the best songs here.
2)Together: I love how Avril sounds at the beginning of this song. She really shows off her range here.
3)Don't Tell Me: great choice as the first single. I love the song's message and I love the chorus.
4)He Wasn't: the "Sk8er Boi" of this album. Very catchy.
5)How Does It Feel: a terrific song in the vein of "I'm With You". Avril sounds terrific here.
6)My Happy Ending: my favorite song on the album. An excellent choice as the second single. I just love this song.
7)Nobody's Home: her collaboration with Ben Moody. Very good song.
8)Forgotten: another great song. I love how Avril sounds on this song. One of my favorites.
9)Who Knows: surprisingly upbeat, considering how everone thinks she is always so sour in her music.
10)Fall To Pieces: I really like this song. It's very catchy.
11)Freak Out: a good song. The lyrics are a little cliched ("Walk around with your hands up in the air like you don't care"), but it's still good.
12)Slipped Away: very good song. It's a good tribute to her grandfather, and it proves Avril is more than just "boys boys boys".

Overall this is a very good album. Avril definitely avoids the sophomore slump. What makes the album even better is that she didn't work with The Matrix this time around. Since they were largely responsible for her signature sound, I wondered if she could pull off an album without them. Thankfully, she did. These songs are even better and catchier than the hits off her first album. On her next album, I would love to see Avril go even further in the darker direction she takes on many of the songs here. I think most of the negative reviews here are by people who just hate Avril and haven't even listened to the album. Coming from someone who actually listened to this CD, I highly recommend it.

Free Music Review: Avril ROCKS!!! People have "poser" issues...
Hit: 5 Stars

HELLO! What kind of people call Avril Lavigne a poser? POSERS THEMSELVES
This album is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, I can relate to so many of the songs...

5/5 Take Me Away- a great opening to a great album
5/5 Together- Ditto
6/5! Don't Tell Me- MY ABSOLUTE Favorite SONG! GOSH, I luv this 1! The beginning is the BEST: "You held my hand and walked me home, I know... Why, you gave me a kiss, it was something like this- It made me go oh, oh. You wiped my tears, got rid of all my fears, why did you have to go? Guess it wasn't enough to take up some of my love, guys are so hard to trust..."
5/5 He Wasn't- reminds me of some1...
4/5 How Does It Feel- Eh... Kinda slow, but good anyways
6/5! My Happy Ending- I ABSOLUTELY luv this one. I can SO relate to it~ So much 4 my "happy ending!"
6/5! Nobody's Home- I LUV singing this 1. THANKS, Avril!
5/5 Forgotten- U go Girl!
4/5 Who Knows- The lyrics are kinda cheesy, but GREAT nonetheless... I mean, she can't be mad ALL the time...
5/5 Fall To Pieces- How I feel sometimes~
I don't want to fall to pieces
I just want to sit and stare at you
I don't want to talk about it
I don't want a conversation
I just want to cry in front of you
I don't want to talk about it
'cause I'm in love with you
5/5 Freak Out- LET IT GO :)
5/5 Slipped Away- Made me cry

Usually only a few songs are good on a CD, but this one's got it ALL... Her 2nd Cd's actually better than the first, although Sk8er Boi kinda sounds like someone telling my story and I feel a certain attachment to Losing Grip and Complicated. Unlike bubblegum pink powderpuff Hilary Duff whose fans are all elementary school kids, Avril can sing (trust me, I've been singing for a LONG time!). Hilary's the poser here. She screams, NOT sings, and sometimes tries to dress like a PUNK! THE HORROR! People who call others posers for like, apparently NO reason have issues! Avril's just being herself. And I happen to like the punk-goth scene she has going on. I dress the same way (as in punk-goth, NOT her clothes in the lyrics booklet). LOL :)

Long story short-- Buy this CD. It's worth your while
