Memphis, TN lays claim to two Kings and one still rules with his Queen, Lucille, by his side. BB King hardly sounds like he's over 80 in this collection of blues standards. You've heard this music before and you'll hear it again, but mark my words you will remember these versions of the songs.
Other reviewers have said it better. I'm just contributing to this product's star rating, but I will say honestly. You are doing yourself a good dozen kind favors when you buy this CD.

Free Music Review: Well played and sung Blues CD from Mr. B.B. King

Superb singing and immaculate playing from Mr. B.B. King. Powerful sound from the whole band and Mr. King's guitar playing beautiful and clear.
Most of the songs are low tempo. Not so upbeat as Blues on the Bayou. But a strong powerful Blues CD nevertheless. I would like to hear live performances in front of an audience of these songs. I find B.B. King' s live CD' s very exciting and full of energy so I am curious to hear how these songs on One Kind Favor will sound in front of an audience.
This CD is well performed.

when i reviewed the former cd "live" i wrote that the king was tired. well, i was wrong. who could think that after that musical mistake b.b.king could have recorded a gem like this? this is the b.b.king we all keep in our hearts since many years. this cd is wonderful, sung very well and played in a terrific way. all the tracks are old blues classics which we know by blues fathers since many years, but they are reborn by the king's new versions. everybody should buy this record and listen to it many times to enjoy.Free Music Review: B.B. B.B. King, Jim Keltner, Nathan East and Dr. John dish up a delicious musical stew of great songs delivered with the style that only guys with this much credibility can. Playing exactly what the song asks them to play, always being on the money. If you're a fan, this album is a must. If you're curious, buy this and use it as a start, to trace where the guys on this record come from. You'll quickly realize that you probably own a recording (probably way more than one) with at least one of these guys on it!Free Music Review: The legend performs to his true status

What a wonderful late career tour d'force. So good to hear the King on songs he hasn't recorded before, supported by world beating production from T Bone Burnett and magnificent players like Dr John and Jim Kelter. Nathan East's acoustic bass is a special stand out.
This record is just a gem, the warmth of tone, understated playing and love of blues oozes out of every track.
If you love the blues, you'll loves this. Buy it, play it, recommend it.
