I am very pleased with this product, and i give it high marks based on what it is : a complete set of recordings of J.S. Bach's music (what is still known anyway). To offer that, at a price that makes it affordable for pretty much anyone who would be interested is unprecedented and certainly appreciated.
The box is sturdy, and the sleeves for the cd's have an assortment of beautiful artwork on them - paintings and in some cases designs. It is organized and labelled in such a way as to make finding a piece relatively easy, which is handy when you consider how many there are.
This was an ambitious undertaking and came out very well. Understand that this doesnt claim to have the best or most definitive recording of every piece - theres no way you could get a consensus on what would be in such a set first of all, not to mention it would not be the bargain that this one is.
What it appears they have done is to commission a few ensembles to record the pieces for this box set, and in "period style" - the sleeve notes indicate the instruments are "natural" and "original". The choral ensembles are Baroque, not modern, size - no Karl Richter Recordings in this set. The recordings are mostly recent and the sound quality is great. Going thru a few of my favorites, as well as picking some out by curiosity, i have so far enjoyed the music very much.

This box is COMPLETE, that means they have All works, even those impossible to find elsewere. The recordings are very well made, with rather good soloists. In a word - It's a Super Duper bargain! This is a rare opportunity to own the ENTIRE J. S. Bach body of work - including transcriptions. I've seen similar sets going for $500 and more; this set, from Brilliant, is far less expensive and just as compelling. The performances are, for the most part, by European performers you won't have heard of (unless you've purchased other Brilliant releases) - but you will be pleased and often delighted by the purity and clarity of their approaches. The sound quality is consistently excellent, and Brilliant has included copious notes (and complete texts) on a separate CD-ROM. Free Music Review: Downloading to my Ipod problems

Just begining to listen.As far as now, I have enjoied the music.When downloading to my Ipod I found the frecuent problem about the track names i.e. Some times the composer field is Bach, Johann Sebastian, some times is J.S. Bach, etc and also diferent criteria used for album name , etc....
