Free Music Notes for Backstreet Boys [ENHANCED CD]

Free Music Review: WHAT CAN I SAY, I'M A SUCKER FOR BOY BANDS!
Hit: 5 Stars

As a person with a variety of musical tastes, loving everyone from Bjork who is my all time favorite, to Loreena McKennitt to Mel C...(you get the idea) you can pretty much tell that I realize that this isn't the deepest music, but who cares? As Duke Ellington said, "If it sounds good, it IS good", so I don't see why everybody feels like they have to hate fun music that gets you through the day, even if song twelve of this album is something less than savory in sentiment. I like the Backstreet boys a lot and I think this album is just great! Boy-band music is always fun, unless they do too many ballads, and as a great lover of dance, club, and overall danceable and enjoyable music I play this album a whole lot. And even if two of the ballads are slightly boring and both start with someone whispering "baby..", there's something kind of sweet about them. Though their second album as a whole has slightly better overall production and is more introspective and thoughtful and is, I think, preferable to this, this is still a great album and is great fun. So if you just want something fun and nice to listen and dance to, buy this album. I think you'll really enjoy it and even be caught bouncing around the room to it alot.

Free Music Review: Good Debut
Hit: 5 Stars

It amazes me how fans of Rock music feel the need to judge Pop music. I don't like Rock it's loud, doesn't make sense, and the majority of Rock singers really can't sing.
BSB are a Pop group, their music is fun, light, about love, which by the way is not a bad thing, and they have great voices.
For a debut cd the Boys did a good job. This cd displayed their ability to harmonize and introduced us to the smooth sounds of Brians vocals and AJ's raspy, soulful sounds. Since Nick was going through puberty at the time of many of these songs were recorded his voice was whinny and scratchy, and I was surprised they show cased him as much as they did.
In todays world of music insulting the female anatomy or the hoochie momma videos, or the poptartlets that feel the need to strip whenever in public i'm proud to be a BSB fan. They are known for their harmonious, melodic ballads, tug at your heart string sounds, and fast songs to dance. It's refreshing to be able to hear a singers voice without loud guitar, which is prevelant in rock, and it's also great not to be called derogatory names in songs, which is so prevelant in rap and hip hop. I choose music that is fun to sing, uplifting and melodic and that's why I choose BSB.

Free Music Review: The Beginning of BSB
Hit: 5 Stars

This was not the group's first studio CD. It was, however, their US debut CD with songs complied from their first two CDs released overseas.

But, what you get with this album is sugery pop at its finest. All the songs on this album work like fine tuned machines, and that is not an insult. From the upbeat pop hits ("Everybody (Backstreet's Back))" to their soft ballads ("All I Have To Give") one is left knowing their full appeal to their adoring fans.

But, what you get mostly from this album is the beginnings of a boy band. The album is laced with do-gooder lyrics swaering to do a gilr right, mend her broken heart, and take all her worries away with a kiss. And, if you look at all five of them, you'd be hoping they would come into your room and make good on those promises. Not for one second while listening to this album do you feel embarrased of silly listening (well, at east until you get to the last song).

What you have here is a wonderful pop album with all the trimmings--five harmonious vocals, slow dance songs, dance beats, and crooner promises. If this is not your cup of tea, do'nt listen. But, if it is, you're going to be surprisinggly happy by CD's end.

Free Music Review: Pure Teenage Girl Pop--Good, For Once!
Hit: 5 Stars

I know what you're thinking. Five stars, for "pure teenage girl pop"? But no matter what genre you categorize this under, it's simply splendid for its place in the music industry.
Examples of its mastery of deliciously dramatic love songs are "As Long As You Love Me" (a personal fave), "Quit Playin' Games With My Heart", "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and "Get Down (You're The One For Me)". With such groovin' tunes for title tracks, who can call this piece of bubblegum pop anything but stellarly made?
Certainly, the album has its downside, as all '90s pop albums seem to. It has some over-produced tracks (ex.: "Anywhere For You", "Hey Mr. DJ (Keep Playin' This Song", and the almost unbearable barber-shop-quartetlike remake of "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss") that make for a grotesque blemish on the album's face, and detract from the listener's love and the potential customer's interest. All in all, though, the devoted listener will learn when to groove to the beat and when to skip to the next enjoyable track rather quickly, and aside from the above-mentioned tracks, this one's a winner.

Free Music Review: I love it!
Hit: 5 Stars

I remember when i first heard "I'll Never Break Your Heart" on the radio. I thought to myself "Wow! I really like this song!Who sings it?" I found out they were called the Backstreet Boys. Then I heard "As Long As You Love Me". I found out they sang that song too. I never really got too into them until June of 1999, but ever since, that's all I really listen to. I used to listen to the radio 24/7 just to hear a Backstreet Boys song, until my mom finally bought this CD and Millennium. Now I listen to them all the time. The songs on this album are wonderful. And they don't need to use bad language in their songs to make them sell. That shows good character. So this proves the fact that the BSB don't have to be Good looking to sell-though they are-I didn't even know who they are or what they looked like the frst time I heard them. My favorite songs are "Anywhere For You", "If You Want It To Be Good Girl(Get Yourself A Bad Boy","I'll Never Break Your Heart", "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss",and "As Long As You Love Me" I say BUY IT! And pick up Millennium while your at it!
