Free Music Notes for MillenniumFree Music Review: A CD Truly for this Millenium and Those to Come Hit: 5 Stars
What can I say about this Cd that hasn't already been said? It is phenonemal. No way is this just for teeny-boppers, and those who label it as such are close-minded and refuse to examine the brilliance of this CD...Larger Than Life-- great dedication song to the fans. You can feel the power behind it that kind of forces you to get up and dance and shout out the lyrics. I Want it That Way-- the quintessant sing-along song of the 90's. Who truly can explain the addiction of this song, with it's simple lyrics and easy listening beat, but it truly showcased the Boys' vocal variety and likeability. Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely--BEAUTIFUL. The most endearing and complex song. The double meaning of the lyrics simply blew me away (is it a song about missing someone or just the LOVE you once shared?) Loved lyrics like, "Life goes on as it never ends, eyes of stone observe the trends..." How thought-provoking! Also the boys never sounded greater and more in touch with a song, you can feel their sadness. It's Gotta be You-- Fun dance song! Loved Nick's, "Ba-aby, it's the way you ma-ake me, kind of get me go cra-azy, never want to stop..." I Need you Tonight-- hmm. I can feel Nick's soul, but sometimes his voice is strained. Don't Want You Back-- damn, why didn't they release this song? The computer enhancements are a bit overdone, but who doesn't love the edgy lyrics, and hearing Nick saying, "just another victim of your sex-u-ality..."( gave me shivers)(also big props to the always emotional AJ and singing chameleon Brian.) Don't Wanna Lose you Now-- pretty. I like the way they sound when they all sing together. The One-- cool, catchy song. But their voices aren't all there, and it gets redundant. Back to Your Heart--ahhh. Sure it's cliche but it's just so darn pretty... Spanish Eyes-- oooh, an interesting song that's about something you don't really hear about. Props to its uniqueness and hypnotic melody (good job in singing Howie and Brian!) No one Else Comes Close-- I have no real opinion on it. Everyone sounds good, soulful. The Perfect Fan-- how pretty is that! It's nice to hear a song dedicated to their mothers (you go Brian)and I love the gospel choir. I just hate all the critics that automatically dimiss this group as being untalented just because they don't write songs about being jaded with the world and don't have chronic bouts of trouble with the law, or hating their parents and such. The Backstreet Boys are excellent role models with beautiful voices, amazing range in the types of songs the sing, hot dance moves, and are just beginning to demonstrate their talent in songwriting and playing instruments. This CD is absolutely amazing, with my personal MVP being Brian, close behind him Nick. Brian, I love your soothing, powerful voice and you are the most talented in the group. You've shown it through your songs and lyrics. Nick, you are the most soulful, have hot dance moves, and are a great showman. AJ, you can totally get a crowd going too, with your edgy voice and uninhibited moves. Kevin, I was so proud to hear your voice on this voice. It just maks you stop and listen. Howie, you have so much emotion behind your voice especially in songs like "Show me the Meaning." Overall, the CD is phenonemal. Any fan of music should get it as long as they have an open mind.
Free Music Review: 2 words:BUY IT! Hit: 5 Stars
Repeat:2 WORDS:GET IT! This is an excellent cd and you will NEVER regret buying it. What I don't understand is why people say they don't write thier own songs because they do. Each one of the Backstreet Boys, exept Nick, wrote a song but only the ones written by Brian Littrel(my HERO)and Kevin Richardson made it on the album. Brian co-wrote four of the songs. Each one of them was very involved with the production of Millennium. On to reviewing the songs.1.Larger Than Life-Great song, the kind that makes you want to crank up the sound to the max. Lots of electric guitar, though. 2.I Want It That Way-This was the first song that really got me interested in BSB.You would play this song at a party to kinda dance to.Over-all:excellent.3.Show Me the Meaning... -GORGEUS,BEAUTIFUL,OUTSTANDING... I simply can't say enough about it.I would buy the cd just for that song.4.It's Gotta Be You-similar title by 'N SYNC(It's Gonna Be Me).Can Someone say-PARTAY.A delightful chorus and a funky pre-chorus.Gotta love the WHOO-WHOO'S in the middle.5.I Need You Tonight-a perfect love song for a teen-aged couple that just broke up.Even if that didn't happen, you would probably still love it.6.Don't Want U Back-sometimes it gives me the jitters.Though I don't like it when Nick sings his first line-But I should have known/ that I would be/another victim of your/sexuality-I still like it.7.Don't Wanna Loose U Now-another great love song. It's one of my favorite songs of all-time (along with Britney's new song,Lucky).8.The One- this is definently my kind of pop.You just can't help but fall in love with this song.It is SOOOOOO sweet.9.Back to Your Heart-this one was written by Kevin, and might I say that he did an incredible job on it.Even my MOM loves it.That's what's great about thier music because it appeals to everyone. 10.Spanish Eyes-this song had to grow on me.They ocassionaly sound a bit off and even strained. Since my mom has taught me everything about singing(I hope to be a singer),I can tell if someone is off, even if I had never heard the song before,or whatever mistakes someone has made.11.No One Else Comes Close-sounds like it's a mixture of pop and soul. This is also a sweet song because they are sayingto a girl that no one is as wonderful as you and no one will ever take your place.I love this song alot.12.The Perfect Fan-For awhile, I thought that it was an EXTREMELY sappy song,But after listening to it alot I began to understand what the song meant.Kevin didn't sound too good because I think he was a little nasal.I think that Brian(my HERO)is an excellent songwriter and I hope he continues to.I just love the way A.J.sounded on songs like The Perfect Fan and I Want It That Way.I don't think that Howie and Kevin got enough solo time on the album. And finnaly,my comment on Nick.On I Need You Tonight, he sounded alittle whiny like he was trying too hard to sound stylish. But, still, he did a good job. I refuse to write that you should FORGET about other boy bands such as 'N SYNC,because it is not for me to decide. I like all the boy bands equally, but if I had to choose which was my fav, I would go with the Backstreet Boys. In my opinion, out of all the bands that there ever was, Backstreet Boys would be #1 ALL THE WAY...
Free Music Review: Backstreet's Back For Real! Hit: 5 Stars
The success of their debut, 'Backstreet Boys' and 2nd album, 'Backstreet's Back' was added with their success of their latest album Millenium. Here is my review of the album: 1. Larger Than Life ***** This song is the opening track of the album. It's catchy and groovy. Starts with a scary laugh from AJ Backstreet and ends with the sound of applauses. It is a promising great tune. 2. I Want It That Way ***** I Want It That Way, the opening single from the album, is great too. It starts with slow tune, too fast and back to slow at the end of the song. With nice vocal and music, this song is definitely a number one record! 3. Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely **** Written by the talented Denniz PoP, the song pictures sadness feeling. Vocal from Howie D at the line "I had no place to go" is quite soft which made the music louder than his voice. Other than that, the song is a sweet, good tune! 4. It's Gotta Be You ***** The "Uh-huh/Uh-huh" part is so groovy!! With lines like "Baby it's the way you make me/kinda get me go crazy/never wanna stop" and "I promise you I will be true yeah/It's only you", this song really kicks ass!! 5. I Need You Tonight ***** This song tells a romance feeling. The sweet-squeaking vocal from Nick Backstreet along with the other quintet vocals at one of the chorus, the song is definitely gonna touch people's heart! 6. Don't Want You Back ***** Lots of songs tell that they want to pacth things up, but watch out! This song is different! It spells the word R.E.J.E.C.T.I.O.N! The song is a VERY VERY great and catchy tune that featured GREAT special sound effects! 7. Back To Your Heart ***1/2 Slow moving song but great. Not as great as the first 6 songs of the album but still deserves a very good compliment. Good job boys! 8. Don't Wanna Lose You Now *** This song reminds me of the a line from a oldie song: "I wanna be fore....ver tonight" when it comes to the part "Don't wanna lo...se you now". Still, a great tune with great vocals! 9. The One ***** Wo-hoo! Another catchy song and it really worth thousand times of listening!!!!! GREAT SONG! 10. Spanish Eyes **1/2 Kinda mushy... isn't it?? Well, it's not because the mushy part that makes this song one of my personal least favourite song on the album. It's just not so promising. 11. No One Else Came Close ** Like Spanish Eyes, this song isn't one my favourite too. It's slow-moving and very romantic. Still, listen to it and you'll see for yourself! 12. The Perfect Fan ***1/2 Listen up all Backstreet mothers!! They love you! This song is good to listen to. It tells a son's love to his mother who sacrifices a lot of things for him. Great, cool song! 13. (Bonus Track) I'll Be There For You *** Okay..... This song is okay. It's not my least favourite or something... I don't listen to it regularly as I don't really mind about it. Overall, Millenium is worth your buying. It'll be your precious treasure which is packed with great songs. Buy it and you'll believe me. Review by Sol@^KaOs^
Free Music Review: ... Hit: 5 Stars
...I have been a die-hard fan of the Backstreet Boys since 1997, and I ain't afraid to show it! The Backstreet Boys are original, and they are so much better than all the other boybands out there...But anyway, as much as I love their self-titled debut, their import albums, and "Black & Blue", I have to say that "Millennium" is still their best yet.1. Larger Than Life--an upbeat song dedicated to their fans. Co-written by Brian and I love this song! 5/5 2. I Want It That Way--what fan of music doesn't like this song? It is extremely catchy and even though most people don't know what it's about, you can obviously tell it's one of the best pop songs ever. 5/5 3. Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely--this song sounds like a love ballad (it even won the Radio Music Award for "best love ballad") but it's actually about pain, loss, and the feeling of being alone. It's beautiful and sad at the same time. Very emotional. 5/5 4. It's Gotta Be You--a very nice underrated upbeat dance tune. Not one of the best, but still a very good song. 4/5 5. I Need You Tonight--some people don't like this song too much, only Nick Carter fans can really appreciate this because it's Nick's solo and Nick happens to be my fav BSB member. It shows his unique talent! 5/5 6. Don't Want You Back--another nice upbeat song. In this song, the Boys refer to their song, Everybody (Backstreet's Back). See if you can find it! 4/5 7. Don't Wanna Lose You Now--a beautiful love ballad where the guys sing about getting their hearts broken and wanting the girl back. Nice vocals. 4/5 8. The One--a very upbeat dance tune that showcases Brian's vocals really well...I especially love the part when he keeps singing one of the notes for a long time. 5/5 9. Back To Your Heart--a lovely ballad with Kevin at the [piano] keys. What talented young men! 5/5 10. Spanish Eyes--Howie D. said this was a song dedicated to their Spanish fans, it's not one of the best on this CD, but still a nice little lovely ballad. 4/5 11. No One Else Comes Close--probably the weakest track on this CD, but it's still a nice little song. AJ's vocals are probably the strongest here. 3/5 12. The Perfect Fan--Brian's ode to his mom (how sweet of him!). Actually, later, the Backstreet Boys turned this into a song that's been dedicated to all their moms. It's a beautiful sweet ballad that can make you cry. What mother wouldn't love this song? 5/5 As you can tell, the Backstreet Boys did a lot of maturing through this album. They do not display teenybopper pop music on this CD, it is adult-contemporary pop, if that's what you want to call it. This is the best album of the year 1999 and it should have won the Grammy for Album of the Year...not Santana's "Supernatural"! The Boys were totally overlooked that year at the Grammys and totally jinxed. I hope they finally win their over-due Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Group at the 2002 Grammy Awards! Buy this album, and you really won't regret it!!
