Free Music Review: "Millenium" is full of emotion and absolutely fabulous!
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok, I have to say I am a little biased seeing as I absolutely loved the Backstreet Boys' previous releases, but I definitely think that, biased or not, nobody can deny the incredible talent of these five pop stars. They started out extremely talented, in fact, they had to audition to get into the group, but their lyrics and voices have definitely matured and they show immense growth on this new album.

I'm not going to go into some huge review of each song, because I really don't think I'm the best person to be reading a review from, and you can find other reviews all over the place, but I will say that, although all the songs are great, I do, of course, have favorites. And least favorites..but I listen to them all constantly.

"I Want It That Way" is great, as everyone I'm sure knows by now from listening to the radio, or flipping on MTV, and it's probably the closest to their previous songs, which makes it a good link between the two albums, and an excellent choice for a first single.

"The One" is not slow, but not a really up-beat dance song like "Don't Want You Back", "It's Gotta Be You", or "Larger Than Life" or their previous hit "Everybody" amongst others...its great though and you can dance to it. It's personally one of my favorites.

"Back To Your Heart" is absolutely beautiful. I think just about everyone can not only hear the emotion in it, but feel it for themselves. "I Need You Tonight" hmmm....I love that boy. He has one of the best voices I've ever heard, and he really does a good job of showing it off. Plus, he puts so much emotion into it when he sings..you can hear it, and you can see it if you see him perform. It's truly amazing. But really, all the boys are like that...that's what makes them so incredible.

Anyway, those were a few of my favorites...and my two cents on them..but you should definitely buy the cd/tape for yourself and form your own opinions. You won't regret it!

Free Music Review: what's the point?..
Hit: 5 Stars

I realized I could get with this CD when my cousin and I werelistening to it in the store because he wanted to purchase it. I wasskeptic at first. I though ceratinly nothing on that album could be as good as "I Want it That Way," but I was wrong! Other songs were competition enough but of course that was the only song that could be a classic because that song is a classic. My cousin purchased it and when he flew back home, I found myself feening to hear "Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely." Then when I went to college, I met a Backstreet Boys fanatic. Literally! She loaned it to me and I still had an insatiable fix. My only solution was to buy the CD. Then I admitted to myself that I was a fan. How could I not be? And I was proud. These guys sang about more realistic situations than the rest of the other guys. So if they wanna keep up, "(N Sync)", then they're gonna have to do a lot better than "Bye, Bye, Bye" because soon that song may be about themselves. Enjoyable ballads for you future purchaser's- if there's any of you left- would be "Back to You Heart," which has a explosive and tear-jerking ending because it is clear that the guys are sorry and on their knees while they recorded that song. I actually believe they were! "Perfect Fan," A nice closing song, "Show Me The Meaning..." well the video is out so judge for yourself, "Spanish Eyes," very romantic and "Don't Want You Back", even though the beginning sounds like "The Boy is Mine," it's different but not out of their league. What a masterpiece of an album painted by wonderful artists. Have I conviced you few non-purchasers enough? Quit reading and go find out for yourselves why these guys have an advantage over the other guys and will be around for quite a while. They've got a formula that the others can't began to acheive. It's called: Giving the Fans What They Want at the Right Time Everytime.

Free Music Review: Physiological Destabilization"
Hit: 5 Stars

"Millennium" is great. The Backstreet Boys have a lot of good albums, but this is their best. It's got a couple of good songs, but the ones that I like best are the awesome songs. They're so great that they make you want to do something. Just name the greatest singer/songwriters in popular music: Prince (before he became Symbol Man), Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and that guy who wrote that stupid song about the dead princess. Sure, like the princess is going to come down to my neighborhood, and we're going to share tea and crumpets. I don't think so. "Millennium" is so REAL!. Realness oozes from every song. Some of the songs are so great, that their really GREAT. All the songs sound different in a different way. Some of the songs sound the same, but they're not exactly different. The big hits are the best songs because they're awesome.

I gave "Millennium" 5-stars because the lyrics are as immature as nursery rhymes (0-stars); the music is simplistic, repetitive, and boring (0-stars); but the cover art is awesome (5-stars). This is the best album of all time, not just of all time, but of really ALL TIME. I'd take The Backstreet Boys to a deserted island. I'd trade my pancreas for "Millennium." I like this album because it's the kind of album that's likable in a different sort of way. The album cover says "Explicit Lyrics." I'm not sure about all that, but I can tell you quit honestly that "Millennium" has a lot of curse words too. If you like good music, then you've got to get The Backstreet Boys. It changed you life. I mean really CHANGED my life. It brought peace and harmony to Western Civilization. During the Gulf War, Iraqi prisoners where forced to listen to The Backstreet Boys 24 hours a day. Allied forces called it "Physiological Destabilization." When the war ended, and the prisoners were returned home, I.Q. tests revealed that they had lost eighteen-percent of the cognitive abilities. I'll bet you didn't know that fact!

Free Music Review: One of the Finest Albums Ever
Hit: 5 Stars

Don't be fooled by any negative comments you find on this site...this album is for everyone. All ages, races, and sexes. I'm a 14 year old male and day in and day out I take ridicule because I enjoy music like this. And that's exactly what this album is...MUSIC. This is not the garbage that we now must endure from people such as Nelly, Destiney's Child, and these other Hip-Hop/Rap/New R&B things. It's just not working for me and I do not respect anyone who enjoys their "music."

But back on this BSB album, I'd like to say that with the exception of Hell Freezes Over by the Eagles, I do not own any CD that is of this caliber. There is not a BAD song on this disc. The worst song is, in my opinion, "Spanish Eyes," which is not a bad song but it just doesn't do it for me.

There are many good songs on this album but there is one that shines among the rest if you ask me. Written by Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson, "Back to Your Heart," steals the whole show as possibly the best love song the boys have EVER done. It should have been the second single released but they've held it off and off and now the new album is already in the works.

Other standouts on the album include Nick Carter's vocal strains in "I Need You Tonight," a song he originally did live in concert under the name "Heaven In Your Eyes"; an anti-love song called "Don't Want You Back," which ranks as one of the most original and best songs that this fivesome ever did; and of course, the song that will be played for many years for Mother's Day celebrations is Brian Littrell's ode to his mother in "The Perfect Fan," which is truely amazing and will always be remembered as their "sweetest song."

Hopefully, everyone reading this review will realize that what I'm saying is true and if you do NOT own this great album...go out and a copy ASAP...I swear you will not be dissapointed.

Free Music Review: Great sophomore effort linking past with future
Hit: 5 Stars

Millennium is without a doubt a much improved effort than their last album. Larger than Life is a great rock song with the screams and hard bass guitar in the instrumental section it just reminds you of one of Michael Jackson's more recent uptempos over the last several years-to my belief. The One is more of a club/dance song that will get your booty shaking. It's Gotta Be You and Don't Want You Back are more on the hip hop end, especially the latter. Such diversity in types of music indicates their own flexibility in doing varying and all types of genres of music. The ballads are more elegant, smoother, more mature, and the interplay and intertwining of their individual voices lends to their talent and vocal creativity. As has become the trademark that is the BSB, the emotion and meanings behind the lyrics are easily felt, distinguishing them from other acts' songs that lack soul or depth. Every song you hear you feel touches on some realistic aspect of their lives, and perhaps that is why many of its fans continue to come back, because the songs are relatable. Some songs will more easily appeal to their younger fans, but there are also songs which appeal more to the older ones, especially the ballads, Larger Than Life, It's Gotta Be You and Don't Want You Back. It's a melding of two points in their careers-the past and the present, and where a few of the songs reflect on loss and yearning, others reflect on hope and devotion. I encourage anyone to buy Millennium, because like its namesake, it is a turning point in the Boys'lives, and it is by far their best CD yet. It is such that you will find yourself simply letting the cd go in your cd player because had the Boys released one song for every month of the year, undoubtedly they will have all been hits. That's how good the album is. You will not be disappointed, contrary to what some apparent dissers and imposters here say.
