Free Music Review: Different... but not in a bad way
Hit: 5 Stars

People always write off the Backstreet Boys because of the genre they got shoved into, and they miss the real talent these guys have. I'm a definite BSB fan (and proud of it!) so I bought this album as soon as it came out, not bothering to listen to more than a few song previews. The first time I listened to it, just flipping through the tracks, I was a little bit disappointed. I was hopelessly in love with Never Gone, despite the predictable melodies and lyrics, and I refused to like anything that was different. But after listening to Unbreakable a few more times I started to realize that yes, Unbreakable is very different from Never Gone, and that's rather a good thing. I love the tracks that first bothered me because they were different; Everything But Mine, One In a Million, and, especially, Panic (I LOVE Panic!), among others. Of course, there are also quite a few songs with those Never Gone lyrics and beautiful (if cliché) melodies that I fell in love with when Never Gone first came out, like Something That I Already Know, You Can Let Go, Trouble Is, etc. This is one of those rare CDs that I can listen to all the way through without skipping a single track (although Treat Me Right leaves me slightly bewildered). I can say now that I don't regret my impulse buy in the least.
OUtstanding tracks: Unmistakable, Panic, Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon, One in a Million, Something That I Already Know

Free Music Review: What an ENJOYABLE album!
Hit: 5 Stars

Hey all. Like many people have said before, a lot of people will dismiss this album because the Backstreet Boys are linked to it. Many people act too mature to listen to them anymore, but really, the reason for this act of "maturity" is caused by their name. When you hear "Backstreet Boys", you immediately think 90s and oldies. However, people forget that they have grown and matured just as we all have and the same goes for their music. I really feel that each album directly reflects the growth of the Backstreet Boys as a group and as individuals. My favorite thing about BSB is that they do not fully conform to the trend of the times. Although their songs are very different from previous albums, they still retain their reputation as a romantic, swooning boy band. In my opinion, this album beats Never Gone because they have re-found their nitch in the music business after they lost it after the 4 year hiatus they took from 2001-2005. Never Gone reflects the searching process and Unbreakable is what they have found.

Honestly, buy the album and listen to it optimistically. Don't let the "Oh, they're just Backstreet Boys who I thought died a long time ago" mentality put prejudice on this marvelous album.

Come on BSB, regain the #1 spot :D

Free Music Review: The Boys Are Back!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love this album from beginning to end! You can tell that there is a missing piece with the departure of Kevin from the group, but they make it work with just four. Their harmonies are displayed in the Intro. What a wonderful way to start the album! They pump it up with Everything But Mine, a catchy dance track that gets you moving. Inconsolable follows, which slows it down a bit, but shows that they are still the kings of ballads. Now, it's pretty weird that a song that sounds similar to Inconsolable follows, but Something That I Already Know is one of my favorite songs on the album. The boys sound so wonderful on this song! Other favorites on the album include You Can Let Go, Trouble Is, and Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon. The bonus tracks are also exceptional. Downpour is a soft ballad, but I think I like In Pieces more because Nick's vocals sound so strong at the beginning of the song. Each one of the boys gets to sing on this album, which is so awesome. Howie sounds so good on Trouble Is! Why didn't they let him sing more on the other albums?! I can't stop listening to this album, which isn't anything new when it comes to a Backstreet Boys album and me, but if you are a BSB fanatic like me, this album is perfect!

Free Music Review: THEY CAN SING
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm amazed at how with every record this band is growing as artists. Unbreakable has a more rock sound and a lot more harmonies. I especially like the Intro because the guys are singing Acapella! If you're a true Backstreet fan you know that is why you love them -- THEY CAN SING! Does it matter that they can dance and look good? Sure it won't hurt but without their voices, they would not be here today. All of the other "boy bands" couldn't truly compete with the Backstreet Boys. Hey did anybody notice JC Chasez from *N Sync wrote co-wrote a song on this record? I think it's cool that all people can really get along. One song that REALLY made me want to go out and get this record the morning it came out was "Love Will Keep You Up All Night". I heard a sample of it here on Amazon and it was Nick singing and I was like "I'm sold!!" But when I bought the record, I ended up liking a lot more then just a few songs. I pretty much liked the whole CD. I'm sad to not hear Kevin on this record, but happy as well because it means I get to hear more Nick. :D Plus you can't beat 2 extra tracks on the Deluxe, a fold-out poster, and some extra downloads! More bang for your buck!

Free Music Review: Great album for anyone.
Hit: 5 Stars

Even thought Kevin's gone and dearly missed, this album is one of the best. It's a great mixture of all the things the boys are best at...catchy dance songs, ballads that make you melt, and the same great harmonies. Unless you're a big fan like me, you wouldn't even notice the change from 5 to 4 members. I've noticed the way the boys have matured lyricly and vocally. Its really a shame that they are still stereotyped as a cheesy pop boyband...."I closed the door, like so many times before, feeling like a scene on the cutting room floor" that is far from cheesy in my opinion. What about this: "I'm a house of cards in a hurricane, a reckless ride in the pouring rain"... Thats deep. These 4 boys, or should I say men, are quite talented and thier music is fun, uplifting, and the vocals are very nice to listen to. With no objectional content of any sort, Unbreakable is a great pop album sutible for the whole family, and I would recommend it to any old fans, or people looking for something different than usual, because just as band member Brian puts it ("We make music for music lovers"), this cd is just good music for people who love music. 5 stars.
