Free Music Review: Truly Unbreakable
Hit: 4 Stars

The boy bands were on the brink of extinction in 2001, so like most 14-year-old girls I moved on to a different breed of boy bands. (Ones with guitars.) Then BSB came back with Never Gone. Fast forward 2 years later and they grace us with Unbreakable. Okay so the sound has changed a little, Kevin isn't even in this album, and love and (mainly) heartbreak is a neverending theme. As much as I love BSB, they weren't as up with the times lyrically as I had hoped, but I can't help but still be amazed by their vocals being just as phenomenal without Kevin. My only regret is had I known there were 2 bonus tracks, I wouldn't have gotten the one with just 14 songs. And here's another shocker, JC Chasez (Yes, NSYNC) contributed his writing skills to the album. Who knew? I think this will appeal more to the truest of BSB fans (and those sick of hearing Britney.) and you gotta admit, it's interesting that even though they did get the memo that boy bands are dead, they don't care. Nick Carter (still a hottie!) has said that as long as music exists, so will they. They really are living up to the new title. Whoo-hoo!

Fave Tracks:
Inconsolable: Love the piano on this track
Something I Already Know: Inconsolable's twin, I know.
Helpless When She Smiles: I predict this will be seranaded by hopeless romantics everywhere.
Any Other Way- Love the guitar riffs! Awesome track.
Panic- The most upbeat track. Love it!
Unmistakable- Most beautiful ballad.
Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon- Somber yet beautifully written and sung.

Free Music Review: New BSB

so this album isn't likely to appeal to everyone, but Backstreet fans of old will adore it. And anyone willing to give it a try might find that they actually like some of the songs. Its not groundbreaking, but its a good solid album from a band most people had already thrown to the wayside. They're still together which says alot since most of their type of group don't stick for this long. Even without Kevin, who unlike some think did provide a nice low voice, and his piano playing was beautiful but since I'm an AJ fan as long as he's still here I'm fine, his voice is still as strong and unique and as beautiful as ever, Brian's as pure and innocent, and Nick and Howie seem to be coming more into their own...
But as someone else already wrote, my big problem is the same problem I've ALWAYS had with their music, and with similar groups... Why does EVERYTHING have to be about relationships and heartbreak? They must do other things, think other thoughts... I know they don't write most of the music, but there must be some writers who write good music that's not about those things? I mean its just a thought... Why not a song about their dogs? Anything else would be refreshing...

Free Music Review: A Good Mix
Hit: 4 Stars

I really like this CD. This CD takes a dance vibe and kinda mixes it with the adult contemporary feel of their previous album. Most of the songs here are good, sometimes even catchy. I pop this in when I need a music pick-me-up. Overall, you shouldn't be disappointed with this disc.
