Free Music Notes for The BackyardigansFree Music Review: sing along with your kids Hit: 5 Stars
I am an unapologetic Backyardigans fan -- it is the only show I care enough to tape if I'm going to miss it. When people ask me my favorite show, I tell them the Backyardigans. And although a lot of people have never heard of it, I fill them in. It's a happy, fun kids' show that is ENTERTAINING, as opposed to preachy PBS offerings or Dora and Blue in Repetitive World.
Another happy bonus to watching the Backyardigans: I had been getting very exasperated because my three-year-old had latched onto Swiper the Fox's personality (from Dora) and he would run around saying, "You'll never get this back..." which I found annoying. Now I laugh when he pretends to be a pirate and walks the plank at the pool, or pretends to be a spooky ghost and goes "Boo" and waits for me to yell "Aaaargh." It's just a much happier, more upbeat show, and the CD conveys that exuberance.
I bought the CD the minute I heard about it, and we play it (the kiddos and me) every day at snack time. I am amazed that my three-year-old knows some of the lyrics already, and I like the CD. The kids do, too.
I'm glad we have something fun to sing in the car and in the tub and while we play.
Glad I bought it, you'll like it too!
Free Music Review: I love the Backyardigans!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Earlier this summer, I was flipping through the channels to find something that my daughter (10 months at the time) would watch. I didn't want her to watch TV for more than an hour a day, so that meant we had to find something GREAT! Somehow, we found The Backyardigans. I love it!! We watch it everyday. Now, she is almost 16 months and has picked up not only on the varied music tunes, but she also has a different dance for each genre. It is amazing! I tell all my friends (and anyone else who comes in contact with us) about this program! Since the summer, we have looked high and low for The Backyardigans items. We recently found some small TY plush animals, but are missing Tasha (my favorite) and Austin.
As far as the CD, I agree with the above review...where is "Ridin' the Range"?? I sing that song all day long, at the doctor's office, in the grocery store...even without my daughter. I love all the songs in all the episodes, but that song is by far my favorite!
We now have the Snow Fort video as well as the It's Great to Be a Ghost. I can't wait for more product to be released! And if the Backyardigans ever come to town...well, I'm sure I'll camp out for our tickets!
Free Music Review: We Love This CD! Hit: 5 Stars
My son really enjoys the Backyardigans on Nick Jr. and I have to say, I do too!
These hilarious characters, who imagine amusing adventures while in the back yard, are fun to watch--breaking out in song at a moment's notice! What's especially great is that the music of The Backyardigans features different music genres such as disco, 20's-style jazz, mambo, swing, 60's-style rock, and much more!
We bought this CD for my son several weeks ago and he LOVES it! In additon to being child-friendly, though, it's PARENT friendly. Unlike other repetitive, irritating, mind-numbing kid CD's, these songs are fresh, well-sung, and downright hilarious. We put this CD among the selections in our car's CD changer, and I think my husband and I enjoy it as much as my son! We found ourselves snickering and even laughing out loud to the witty and whimsical songs on this CD.
Featuring 19 upbeat songs--none of which sound the same--this CD has a run-time of 36:09.
Highly recommended!
Free Music Review: Totally COOL! Hit: 5 Stars
Awesome! Even though this cool show is on the same channel as (gulp) Dora the Explorer, there's nothing stupid
about it. It features Uniqua, Tasha, Pablo, Tyrone, and Austin ( who is not on the show very often ) who are neighbors
that use their imagination. This CD features songs such as Yeti Stomp, Into The Thick Of It, and much more.
Nothing on it is about shapes and numbers, making it fun for all ages. You'll find yourself humming to these songs locked
up in a room, maybe even in front of people. I'm a big Backyardigans fan. So far, there is two videos about The Backyardigans.
The show is NOT like...
Lazytown
Barney
Dora
Blue's Clues
.... so it's perfectly fine to watch. Don't feel bad if you're
a fan of The Backyardigans.
I hope you'll buy this CD! It's a feast for your ears.
Free Music Review: A lot of fun Hit: 5 Stars
My 3-year-old nephew loves The Backyardigans and regularly glues himself to the show at 10:30 on Saturday mornings, completely entranced while he absorbs each and every visual detail and line of dialogue. So it was only natural that we should get the CD when it came out. It's such a great deal: 19 songs, all of them eminently singable, with funny, witty, un-dumbed down lyrics that put many a Top 40 song to shame. My nephew's absolute favorite is the hip-hop "Buffalo Girls and Boys," but he also loves the Dixieland jazz number "Booin'" and the funky "Yeti Stomp." My only nitpick: I would have loved for them to have included "Ridin' the Range."
Hopefully The Backyardigans will continue for many seasons more so that we can look forward to a new CD release each year.
