As fans know, Nick Cave didn't tour Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus in America. Too bad because it's some of his strongest material. I saw him when he was in Seattle touring No More Shall We Part and it was one of the best concert experiences of my life. He's an incredible performer and the Bad Seeds are a great band.
This is 2 DVDs and 2 CDs for about $27. The quality of the contents will not disappoint anyone. It's not quite the same as being there live but it's very good and its the best we're going to get until he decides to tour America again.

As others have written, this set is a steal... 2 DVDs of live and promo footage, and 2 CDs of live songs from this tour.
Even better, the concert footage is beautifully shot in anamorphic widescreen, and even has a DTS 5.1 sound option which is crystal clear.
My only complaint is that the songs on the CDs and DVDs don't match... meaning, some songs are only on the CDs, some songs are only on the DVDs. I'd assumed all songs would be in both formats.
In any case, this is a must-buy for Cave fans.

In all due respect to Phil Spector, screw him! The amazing layered sound Nick Cave and his cohorts have created since the Nocturama album has just gotten more and more nuanced and blown apart. This CD and DVD set is a must for any fan of Nick or just simple damn rock'n'roll. No one else even comes close to this pure musical experience. And then there's Grinderman...
More Music Review: Nick can do no wrong
Hit: 5 Stars My girlfriend told me, before she was my girlfriend, that in her estimation Nick Cave "can do no wrong." That pushed me a lot closer to asking her out.
Half a year later I get this wonderful multi-cd/dvd release. And it confirms my girlfriend's belief:
NICK CAN DO NO WRONG.

Nick Cave at the top of his game. Cave has been around for awhile but really hit is stride on Murder Ballads. From then on he has been on a roll and this concert footage is just another notch in his belt. Great footage! Crystal clear sound and built to be played loud loud LOUD!!!!!
