Abattoir Blues Tour (2CD+2DVD)
Words cannot explain what I feel when I get and saw/heard this album...
Brilliant!? Magic!? Amazing!? How I've said, words cannot explain...
Free Music Review: Great disc set Hit: 5 Stars
The CDs and DVD's were awesome. Great music and video. Had a skip on one disc, but other than that quality was great and nicely packaged. Got Grinderman CD afterwards and still a Nick Cave fan bigtime.
Free Music Review: well... Hit: 4 Stars
While I don't agree with some of the choices Nick makes here (doing "The Weeping Song" without Blixa and dedicating it to him, putting the gospel vox on all the old material, lack of said older material, etc.), you certainly cannot beat the bang for your buck you get here. Jesus. Two live albums, Two live shows, a (short) documentary, and you get the videos that have been released since the videos dvd. For twenty-five dollars. Combine that with the B-Sides and Rarities compilation, and the Abbatoir/Lyre Album, you have seven discs of music and two DVDs for like 60 bucks full price. You can't beat that.
The live DVD doesn't hold a candle to the amazing "God is In the House" release, but it's a must for any Cave fan, and the mixing is very well done. All of the Abbatoir/Lyre tracks are done very well.
Free Music Review: No flowers growing in his sidewalk Hit: 3 Stars
Powerful and energetic, Nick belts out angst and insightfully toxic scenes in an emotional yet controlled barrage. I was both repulsed and drawn into his truly bleak world. It's a collection to experience.
