Free Music Review: The Hour of Bewilderbeast
Hit: 5 Stars

After listenning to this album time after time after time, I have found that this is one of the most intriguing albums I have stumbled upon. With influences from several different genres, beautifully orchestrated songs, and some of the most emotional hooks I have heard in recent years, this definately hits A-list. Take for example, the beautiful "The Shining". The song starts out with a brass and string section that swept through my ears with the loveliest melody. The song then brings in an acoustic guitar and Damon Gough's calming voice in a folk-esque openner. Beginning simplistic, the song eventually brings in the introduction with the acoustic, and harmonises beautifully. Every song on this album struck a chord with me (besides the out of place "Everybodys Stalking"), without ever becoming trite. Don't pass this one up.

Free Music Review: Should be the Perfect Album
Hit: 4 Stars

This should be the perfect album. Every song is catchy and wonderfully crafted. They're all radio friendly. Yet, somehow, it fails to be the perfect album. It all seems too easy for Damon Gough. It's almost like he's showing off, like he never breaks a sweat. 'Yes, yes, we know you're that talented. Can you push the envelope please?' I've heard everything before. It's archetypal pop. Still, it's hard to knock this album and I am only knocking it because its so good, because it feels so effortless. It's a romantic comedy of a CD starring Hugh Grant playing Hugh Grant. Of course, it's good, how could it not be? But it lacks the heart to make it great.

Free Music Review: Great Songs Great CD!
Hit: 4 Stars

I heard 1 song Another Jewel bought the CD only to find almost all of the songs are good!

Free Music Review: I came around eventually
Hit: 5 Stars

Badly drawn boy and I got off on the wrong foot (about a boy) so I was really reluctant to listen to this album. Eventually I gave in to my friend across the hall and future roommate and im really glad that I did. I'm not really sure if this is a theme album or not but each song sort of works like an act in a larger play. Stone on the water is my favorite here but, bodyrap/once around the block and everybodys stalking are equally amazing. Actually the whole cd is. I hope he's good in concert.

Free Music Review: Scary amount of talent
Hit: 4 Stars

One day I woke up and bemoaned the lack of singer/songwriters with talent and creativity. Then along came the man with the wooly cap. I bought this album based on hearing half of a song in a music store when I was in the UK. I bought this together with the coldplay: parachutes and spent the next 3 months only listening to these 2 albums. Simply marvelous. Pissing in the wind is my theme song, pity that the words needed to be changed to spitting in the wind for the general public as this describes what Badly drawn boy's music is about.
