I too, bought this for one song and one song only, Calling You...and it was worth it! If Jevetta Steele had her own CD with that song on it, I would have bought that instead. Her voice is beyond spine tingling as others have said. It goes all the way to the marrow! Her voice is smooth and rich.
Once you hear it, you've got to have it...and that means you have to buy Bagdad Cafe.

A jazzy little soundtrack which remains a nice reflection of the movie.. some blues, some gorgeous piano, a jazzy number about the main character, "Brenda"...and last but not least, the AMAZING, Wonderful, "I am calling you!" This is one of the most beautiful songs I know.. bittersweet and full of emotion.. a honey-soaked teardrop.
Just get it!

This is one of my favorite movies! The music is haunting and I love the desert atmosphere. Jack Palance was a joy to watch. To me it meant that sometimes all you need is someone to believe in you to rise above and beyond. I find it in small businesses all the time. Well i first saw this movie here at school and being a 17 yr old girl at design and architecture senior high...i wasnt all tha thrilled to see it. but then the song "calling you" came on and i fell in love, and i see it all the time..watch it, hear it youll love it!!Free Music Review: Jevetta Steele has a fabulous voice.

Jevetta Steele's "Calling You" is hauntingly beautiful. This song alone is worth the cost of the CD. The other tunes bring back memories of the movie, which I also love and watch every chance I get.
