Free Music Review: The Best of the Barbie Soundtrack CDs

With 22 tracks from 4 Barbie movies, this CD is probably the best value of the Barbie soundtracks, as well as having music from (in my opinion) the best Barbie movie so far, Princess and the Pauper. In addition to songs from the movies, there are also very light, child-appropriate pop tracks that while sometimes overly sugary, will stick in your head and grow on you if you're not careful. It also has music from The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, so if you're trying to sneak in some classics to round out your kids' listening experience, this is a good way to do it.
The original movie songs are no masterpieces, but kids and adults alike will enjoy most of them. They are mostly positive, teaching good values, except for "How Can I Refuse," which is sung by a villain but is still catchy and OK for the kids. "If You Love Me for Me," from Princess and the Pauper, is a particular standout for me as an adult on lyrics and melody, and "I'm On My Way" is a personal favorite in the pop-sugar category. If you get only one Barbie movie CD, this is "the" one to have.

Fabulous soundtracks. I am glad that I finally found this CD - my daughters love all the music from the Barbie movies-when they watch them on DVD I constantly have to set the player to "Repeat" the chapter with the song in it so they can hear it over and over and over.....and over! I myself love the closing credits song to Princess and the Pauper "I'm on my Way"-Sara Niemietz the vocalist is going to go very far in her career with a voice as sweet as an angels song !!!!!Free Music Review: my girls (and their mom) absolutely love it!

The disc mostly contains songs from the "Princess and the Pauper" movie with a few songs from Barbie's other princess titles (Rapunzel, Nutcracker, and Swan Lake). The songs are very catchy and my girls (and their mom) have been known to belt out a few of the tunes in the car. I gave it to the girls for Valentine's Day, and we have played it daily in the car since. It is a soundtrack you can listen to over and over again. As a 24 year old Barbie fan, I loved this soundtrack. I do agree that some of the songs should have had the dialogue from the movies removed.The princess & the pauper is by far my favorite of the movies & I was glad to find this cd.I'm not really into all the classical music.Other than that it's great.I would purchase this for my nieces & god daughters.Free Music Review: Great Songs!

I'm a big fan of duets and showtunes, and this did not disappoint. Even though it's Barbie, I think the songs are actually pretty decent and I find myself singing along to them. My girls love the CD and act out the different scenes - especially with Princess & the Pauper. I think if your girl likes the Barbie Princess Series, she will love this!
