Free Music Review: Great film score

The score for Les Miserables is really great because of the influence of the musical on it. The music is powerful, bordering on bombastic, and encapsulates a great deal of emotional depth. This is one of my favorite film scores, and I think, especially in the movie, it works great. The second track of the disk, "Vigau," is especially exciting and affecting.
The one problem I have with this is simply the way it's set up on the disk. Most soundtrack CDs will organize the music by motif--each song will be a small snippet from a particularly developed section of that motif. I prefer this way, because usually I just want to listen to one motif from a film score. Organizing the songs into suites was interesting and different, but I'm not sure that it works here. However, all the important motifs from the film are present, it's just hard to find one in particular when you want to listen to it.
