Free Music Review: Bjork dressed in fur and gold with bats flying around

At first, I thought the first two songs, in particular, on this CD were really clever. However, after a few listens, I realized that they were fairly empty. The singer sounds like a Bjork ripoff, and the music also is somewhere between British club music and Bjork. The bat leitmotif is also a tad annoying because it seems to be based on a young girl's obsession with bats, but as a metaphor, there is no real connection drawn between bats and the human condition. You can't just use violas and tribal drums and make gorgeous and poetic music. If you want something new and different and not too out there, go buy a Patrick Wolf CD. This band is going to have a short life, where Patrick Wolf will be peaking in about two or three years. Free Music Review: Awesome new album!! I can't wait for more!

I think it was Spin magazine that aroused my curiousity towards Natasha Khan (aka Bat for Lashes). I was fortunate to have found a copy of FUR & GOLD at my library. The firt thing that I noticed when I first listened to FUR & GOLD is the Bjork comparison. Natasha's vocals. I liked what I heard but the songs didn't really start growing on me until I had listened to the cd several times. Now I have come to really love the cd. I am reminded of both Bjork, Kate Bush, and a smidgeon of Tori Amos (at least the music aspect). I have always loved the delicate sounds of the harpsichord so to hear that on a song like "Horse and I" is a real treat for me. You really don't hear harpsichord in modern music nowadays. Overall FUR & GOLD is a wonderful album to kick back and relax to. Free Music Review: best new music out of england

i love this bands the vocals are excellent. the music crosses into the alternative indie pop style but maintains integrity. i think they were up for awards in the brit music awards. they sort of remind me of the cranberries. Free Music Review: Great CD!!!

This CD is great, I've been listening to it at least once a day for the last 3 weeks with no end in sight. She's definitley a genius and extremely talented!
