I tend to listen to things obsessively, I'll admit that. On the way to and from work for over a month now, I've kept this CD going. It's that good. Pirates of the Carribbean 2 had kept that slot warm for the months prior to this one, but I think I found my new musical obsession. Heck, I'm listening to it right now, and I'm not driving... yes, I bothered to go out to my car, turn the car on, retrieve my CD, turn off the car, and walk all the way back into the house to play it while I work.Free Music Review: Awesome

At first, my expectations for the soundtrack were extremely high. I expected the whole soundtrack to contain the two note adrenaline rush sequence in Vespertilio, but found it sparingly troughout the soundtrack. After my expectations resolved, I was able to appreciate the melody and theme from the other tracks. I also noticed the songs rarely have a closing, but quickly ends after climax; something I had to deal with and later found interesting. This music is excellent....a fine album that does as much to create the tortured soul that is Bruce Wayne, as does the new, revised film. This is Batman as he should have been portrayed right from the start, and this work bears witness to the new era of the Dark Knight.
Despite previous reviews, I loved the film, and I love the music. I can only hope these two composers will join forces again to do the obvious sequel justice....Bring on the Joker!

A surprising soundtrack. You won't hear any real main theme. So it will be quite hard for you to remember any theme at the beginning. But what could be a weakness anywhere else isn't here. Zimmer and Howard succeed in creating a strong atmosphere that served wonderfully the movie. Fans will recognize some of Zimmer's drums and some of Howard's orchestrations.
