Free Music Notes for Batman BeginsFree Music Review: A dark feeling Hit: 5 StarsFirst, what I feel for this soundtrack is dark. It is real dark. It is sometime high and sometime low. So, it will suit of what a Batman movie should be. So, overall, this movie reflects the dark and dramatic scenes and character in this movie. It is recommended.
Free Music Review: The Black Knight Returns, with AWESOME music! Hit: 5 StarsBatman Begins is an awesome score! No, I don't think it's better than Elfman's originals, "although it's a far cry better than Goldenthal's efforts." Batman Begins is an equal effort with Elfman's, and should be respected as a work of art on it's own.
Track 1 Is a deep, thumping, brassy spectacle. Resulting in rushing blood and an urge to do a million pushups.
Track 2 Is a quiet, atmoshperic piece, reminding one of James Newton Howard's previous work for "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs."
Track 3 Starts creepy, and eerie, and ends up loud, percussive, and frightening.
Track 4-6 Are my least favorite tracks of the CD, however, some of the sound effects used are blood chilling, and leave you with respect for the composers.
Tracks 7-12 Are BLISS Changing from heavy brass and creepy sounds, to classical-techno hybrid, to slow, moving drama pieces, "love theme etc."
Do yourself a favor, buy this NOW! :)

Free Music Review: Dark, Beautiful and Fitting Hit: 5 StarsAs an owner of the Gladiator and Black Hawk Down soundtracks, I'm a huge Zimmer fan. I bought the soundtrack a couple of days ago, and have been ecstatic ever since.
The soundtrack perfectly epitomises the dark and dramatic character of the movie. The pace of the music, while at times slow, has this energising yet haunting feel that I can't describe. When I listened to it the first time I felt both the pain of one man, and the might of a legend. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have done a spectacular job!
Free Music Review: Holy Missing Music, Batman!!! Hit: 3 StarsI am not going to lie by saying I wasn't excited about the fact that Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard were going to compose the music for "Batman Begins". In fact, I enjoyed it when I heard it in the movie. On this album, however, I was kinda disappointed. Really.
For starters, I was expecting a lot of action music on this CD, but I have to settle with 'Eptesicus', 'Myotis', and 'Molossus'; in fact, I believe those tracks are the best points in here. However, I wonder where the rest of the action went. I was also hoping for a better representation of the love theme, but it's so scattered all over this album. The rest of the music on this CD is just noise.
Despite the fact that the "Batman Begins" album is a fine listen, there are little important moments to hold on to, not to mention a stronger theme, instead of a two-note motif. I'm glad there are more coherent and better structured BatCDs out there, like Danny Elfman's "Batman" and "Batman Returns; Elliot Goldenthal's "Batman Forever"; and Shirley Walker's "Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm". Let's hope an expanded edition of the "Batman Begins" is released some day in the future, and let's see if we get a better representation of this music score, which was written for a movie that is, in my own personal opinion, the best movie of 2005 so far.
