Free Music Notes for Batman Forever: Music From The Motion Picture

Free Music Review: "Holy good soundtrack Batman!"
Hit: 4 Stars

I can safely say that the first 7 tracks on here are excellent. After that, not bad. Obviously the "U2" and "Seal" songs are the big ones, but the tracks from "Mazzy Star" and "Flaming Lips" are good too, as are most of the rest. I've never heard of "Eddi Reader" before, but that song is beautiful. At least this soundtrack isn't all "Prince", though I like him. Now lets see if Batman 5 is gonna be any good, with Christian Bale.

Free Music Review: Decent Stuff
Hit: 3 Stars

Not the best soundtrack ever, but Nick Cave's song is great. Just get past the silly generic songs from U2, Seal, Flaming Lips, and PJ Harvey.

Free Music Review: A Good Collection of Under-appreciated Music
Hit: 4 Stars

I don't think this CD was very popular when it came out back in '95, but now some of the artists on here are no longer "no-names" - case in point, the Flaming Lips have rocketed in popularity since the release of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (which I suggest you pick up if you like the song on here) and Massive Attack has grown more popular I think (pick up their album Mezzanine for some really good trip-hop).

The U2 track and the Seal track are both classics, Nick Cave is awesome (his album No More Shall We Part is excellent - another good buy) and the rest of the album make this better than the average soundtrack.

It's not spectacular, but if you want a sampling of good groups to get into, give it a try.

Free Music Review: you've got to be kidding me
Hit: 1 Stars

Three decent tracks, that's it. Once you're past U2, Seal, and the Flaming Lips (and maybe the PJ Harvey track too), there's no reason to spin this any more. If you want a good soundtrack, then buy both CDs from "Dead Presidents".

Free Music Review: What about Sunny Day???
Hit: 4 Stars

Okay, so maybe Nick Cave and Massive Ataack add to the overall effect of the album... but in my opinion, Sunny Day Real Estate's "8" is an amazing song, easily the best on the album. Check out S.D.R.E.'s albums "Diary" and "LP2" for more great pre-emo guitar-driven rock.
