Free Music Review: an eclectric line up.... amazing music

this has to be one of the greatest soundtracks ever. there are many truly outstanding gems here that somehow never gained recognition. at first i bought this cd just because i love u2's song and also kiss from a rose... i actually *regretted* buying this cd at first coz i was NOT familiar with most of the artists featured here.however, after the first spin... god it's just so incredible that i can't believe that this is actually a soundtrack! like, how many soundtracks out there that is at least *half* decent? most of them have 1 or 2 songs that is listenable and the others are just (bad) fillers. not so with this one, baby.
the sound and theme of this soundtrack is very eery and shadowy... i'd say the songs really reflects the movie's atmosphere... of the industrial presence... the alleyways... and the perpetual sombre of gotham. not to say that this cd is very dark... on the contrary, the music seems to capture the movie's essence and that is incredible in itself.
although i bought this soundtrack on the strengh of the 2 songs i mentioned earlier, i soon found that the song "the hunter get captured by the game" by massive attack feat. tracey thorn is simply *superb* and the sheer power of the song is unbelievable. also i count nick cave's and the late michael hutchence's ("there is a light" and "the passenger") efforts as among the best this soundtrack have to offer. others worth mentioning are the devlin, pj harvey and sunny day real estate whom all left quite an impression on me.
all i can say is that this soundtrack is really, really amazing. i've had it since it first came out and until this day, it remains one of the most played cd i own. need i say anything more?
Free Music Review: Rocks like a bad Punk

How can you not like this CD. It has DEXTER HOLLAND AND THE OFFSPRING on it!!!. They are the best!!! With a mix of screaching riffs, grat drums and Dexter Holland's talent, "Smnash it Up" tottaly kicks. U2 is also preatty good, and so is Seal. But Offspring is the best on this CD.Free Music Review: How could a CD with Eddi Reader on it be bad?........Well...

I bought this CD only for the Eddi Reader song "Nobody Lives Without Love". If for that song only my money was well spent. Several of the other songs are enjoyable, but as far as soundtracks go it is nothing special.Free Music Review: A soundtrack better than the movie

I saw the movie in the theaters and grimaced throughout, but found the music continued to meet my expectations of what Batman should invoke, and so I had to get this CD. Unlike the film itself, this project was well executed and gave much more of an emotional connection. There is a little bit of rock, punk and R&B on here to appeal to a wide variety of consumers---or somebody with one very ecclectic palate--so even if you were soured by the single overplay from this album do not let it stop you from going out to get this treasure.

I originally only bought this CD for the opening track, U2's excellent 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me', but there is plenty of other good music here. Of course there is Seal's lovely 'Kiss From a Rose', and the best songs on this soundtrack are Massive Attack and Tracey Thorn's fabulous 'The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game', Mazzy Star's 'Tell Me Now', The Devlins' 'Crossing the River', and the goofy-funny 'Bad Days' by The Flaming Lips. Not the best soundtrack I've heard, but there are certainly some great tracks.
