Free Music Notes for Battlestar Galactica: Season 4

Free Music Review: Genius
Hit: 5 Stars

Bear McCreary has outdone himself. One of the most innovative composers working today, his seamless blend of instruments from all over the world creates a unique and moving audio experience. His score is beautiful, and exciting, and it transcends genre.

Standout Tracks:

Diaspora Oratorio
Attack on the Colony
The Heart Of the Sun
Kara Remembers
Gaeta's Lament

I could keep going but I'd probably end up listing the entire album. These two CDs are more than worth the price, and are a must have for anyone who loves music.

Free Music Review: Way to go, Bear!
Hit: 5 Stars

The soundtrack for BSG season 4 is a must have for anyone that followed the series to its end. The massive 2 disc set does a fantastic job of capturing the best musical moments of the final season. The three hour "Daybreak" episode has its own disc. What really pops this as a CD purchase for fans is the artwork in the case. Stills from the series and behind the scenes are awesome, and dozens of quick hit interviews with cast members, staff members, and production team members are printed. They give a feel of what the music's contribution to the series as a whole was.

Free Music Review: Astonishingly Epic
Hit: 5 Stars

The amount of music, approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, alone is enough to give this album an epic status. The fact that the music is actually spectacular makes it truly epic compared to any other soundtrack. And Diaspora Oratorio is a masterpiece of emotion. If you enjoy more modern classical music, or even traditional classical, this album will not disappoint you. The intelligence McCreary brings to us is amazing and mesmerizing. As another reviewer noted, every track here is stand out. Not a single track disappoints. Not at all. This album is perfect.

Free Music Review: Too good for televsion???!
Hit: 5 Stars

After one listen I was left with one question Is this too good for TV? It could easily pass for a soundtrack for the big screen rivaling John Williams and Howard Shore. Instruments from China, Japan, India, Middle East, Western Europe make up very rich and diverse palette. Even if you have never seen the show, it is a terrific piece of music. Some highlights: a powerful vocal performance by Alessandro Juliani in "Gaeta's Lament", "The Cult of Baltar", "Kara Remembers", "Diaspora Oratorio", "Assault On The Colony" and "The Heart Of The Sun".

Free Music Review: EXCELLENT! Did it again!
Hit: 5 Stars

This two disc set lives up to the superb scoring McCreary did for the first thee seasons.
The addition of a separate disc for the final episodes score was beautiful.

Track 5 on disc one carried that beautiful sound that became the Adama family theme.
And track 17, Kara Remembers is AWESOME, truly capturing the energy and the intensity of the whole show.
The final tracks on disc two rest quietly on the promising ending of the crew on 'Earth'.

Excellent score that McCreary hit with again!
