Free Music Review: A Good Addition to the Collection of All BSG Fans
Hit: 5 Stars

A few years ago when the new Battlestar Galactica (referred from now on as 'BSG') miniseries aired I watched it, being the SciFi fan that I am. I wasn't around for the original series, so I wasn't a fan of the show already. I thought the miniseries was ok; but wasn't overly excited when the series was announced. Since it was on right after Stargate, I decided to start watching. After a few episodes, I was hooked. What did it, if the characters and setting were the same as the miniseries? The music.

Nothing against Richard Gibbs (composer of the miniseries' soundtrack) but I found Bear McCreary's take on BSG to have a lot of energy and variety. My favorite tracks are some of the more off-the-wall ones, such as the lamenting bagpipes of "Wander My Friends" or the vocals in "Battlestar Operatica." Other faves include the US & UK "Main Titles," the modern touch of "Battlestar Muzaktica," and the ominous tones of "Passacaglia" and "The Shape Of Things To Come."

If you're not a fan of the series, a lot of the meaning may be lost on you, but if you're a fan of SciFi music, you should check it out. For those of you who are fans of BSG, the soundtrack is a great way to enjoy the show while you're driving, working at your computer, or doing other things that prohibit you from actually watching it; definitely pick it up.

Free Music Review: Excellent sounds

HIGHLY recommended. The drums and old sounds are very moving. Be sure you have a good subwoofer to get the full experience. Excellent music, getting the next disk now!

Free Music Review: Bear McCreary is a genius composer
Hit: 5 Stars

The soundtrack sounded refreshing and unique. Many of the tracks left a chilling impression on me, especially Passacagl ia, Kobal's Last Gleaming, and The Shape of Things to Come.
Two Funerals, and Forgiven has that nice emotional feeling to it.
The music that accompanied the battle scenes and tense situations in the show is amazing, the fast beating of drums and etc. enhances the tension. McCreary knows how to compose.

All in all, the soundtrack has a wide range of style and sound to it in each track, from Classical Symphony, New Age, and a little bit of Techno.

Free Music Review: Better than the miniseries!
Hit: 5 Stars

I loved the miniseries soundtrack, but I love this one even more. I love the war drums, they are awesome!

Free Music Review: the first review/kagemusha
Hit: 5 Stars

well, this is the first time for a review, and i was recomended to this review. so here it goes.First of all wow!!! i mean wooow
what a score, Bear McCreary did a hell of a job on this project.
Its like a mix of all kinds of composers , like Harry Gregson Williams( from Man on Fire), Halo lot of cue`s, i could go on, and ofcause a danish group called Safri Duo.
If anyone of your guys and girls like this kind of sumption , then buy it now.
