Free Music Notes for Battlestar Galactica: Season One

Free Music Review: Not your average soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

McCreary's Battlestar Galactic soundtrack is certainly one of the best I've hear in a long time. The primal feel of McCreary's music, especially with his employment of Taiko drums, sets it apart from the usual space-opera soundtracks and is a breath of fresh air in the already stale John Williamsian dominated, purely orchestral, soundtracks.

Free Music Review: Galactica Music is Stirring
Hit: 5 Stars

The music on this cd is a blend of many types of music from Celtic to Japanese drums. I have it in the cd changer in my van and everyone riding with me asks what it is and where they can get a copy. This music is a big part of the program but it stands alone as a musical feast. I may have to get a backup copy in case I wear this one out!

Free Music Review: I love BSG
Hit: 5 Stars

The music from season of BSG is awesome...if you like that sort of thing. It has a moody mix of middle eastern instruments (including a few tracks with Taiko style drums) and voices. It's not your typical 'sweeping strings' type of soundtrack. It's much more subtle and moody, creating more of an atmosphere than painting sweeping vistas.

Free Music Review: Best TV Show Soundtrack Ever
Hit: 5 Stars

I watched the show and fell in love with the music. The CD is exactly the music from the show, hence it was exactly what I wanted. All the songs are great, and I've been listening to it for a month straight. I really love Good Lighter and Wander My Friends. I highly recommend this CD.

Free Music Review: Frackin' Awesome
Hit: 5 Stars

Bear McCreary is an unsung genius. His use of percussion as a melodic instrument is rarely seen, especially in the mainstream. In ten years he'll be considered one of the greats alongside Danny Elfman and Phillip Glass.

Oh yeah, the CD rocks too. So does the show. Yeah...
