This soundtrack was better than the mini series soundtrack. I have listened to it non stop in my car for a month. I love it and am hoping they do a season 2.Free Music Review: Best Show has Best Score

I'll be brief- this soundtrack is not the "normal" sci-fi affair- it feels more like a anthropological study of music, from "tribal" to ancient European with elements of Oceania, Africa, America (again, ancient), and Asia mixed in. With track 30, for example, my friend thought it was Chinese, but I'm thinking more Italian- of course, half way through, it become a more primal song...
If you're looking here, its for one of four reasons- you like/love the show, you're been directed by friends/family, you like superb and original music, or you misclicked. In either event:
1st reason) Buy the CD
2nd reason) Buy the CD, and ask to borrow the DVD set from the person who recommended the show to you, (before you get it yourself)
3rd reason) This is it- this will be one of the best CDs you get this year. (But give the show a chance- best show on TV in several years)
4th reason) Seriously, you should try the series- the 1st Season DVDs come with the pilot miniseries, and if you don't like Sci-Fi, don't worry- you don't have to: great storytelling is great storytelling, regardless of the genre.
I've had the CD about two weeks now, and I've listened to the whole track, end to end, at least fifty times, (not to mention the repeating of certain tracks). My friends and family who've heard it, regardless of them watching the show, want this CD, (and they range from Vietnamese to Nigerian, not to mention American). (Plus, its a good thing I have both DVD sets, as they're both borrowed out...) This CD will not disappoint, should you like something better than the current pop music media we have now.

Fantastic show, awesome soundtrack. The music really is a critical part of the quality of the show, and this CD accents that fact.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I'm unlikely to listen to this for the music alone. The pieces are too short to make it a cohesive emotional experience.
But for a soundtrack, it's amazing.

If you thought the first soundtrack to the mini-series was good then this goes beyond that. This is just pure sci-fi at its greatness, blending an ethnic vocals over dreamscape and moving music. This really works with the series 1 and in my opinion this is one of the best sci-fi shows that are out that moment, even better than its competitors Stargate SG1/Atlantis.
Combining sturring score with a series that has greatness all over it, I'd buy the season 1 also with it, its well worth it.
