Free Music Notes for Battlestar Galactica: Season OneFree Music Review: BSG soundtrack.......... Hit: 5 StarsGood stuff! I only wish some of the songs were a little bit longer.
Free Music Review: Best TV Show Soundtrack Ever Hit: 5 StarsI watched the show and fell in love with the music. The CD is exactly the music from the show, hence it was exactly what I wanted. All the songs are great, and I've been listening to it for a month straight. I really love Good Lighter and Wander My Friends. I highly recommend this CD.
Free Music Review: Amazing. Hit: 4 StarsI am a huge fan of the New BG. While watching Season One's episodes, I kept saying to myself: "I wish I had this music." Well, now I do. And, it is amazing!!! The composer has taken many differnt types of music from all around the world and blended them together into someting epic. He mixes Tribal, Celtic, Arabic, Electronic, Opera, and Romantic Classical music, and Muzac, into a sound that is compleatly unique, spectacular, emotional, touching, violent, and just about every other description that you can think of. The drums get a little tedious, but in all, this is definitly a "must hear".
Of all the tracks, my favorite must be the Celtic "Wonder My Friends" It's both beautiful and heartbreaking. I feel moved every time I hear it.
Free Music Review: Is this the best soundtrack ever composed for a tv show? Hit: 5 StarsI love soundtracks, I collect only the best. Get "Battlestar Galactica: Season One [SOUNDTRACK]" disk, not the other, "Battlestar Galactica [SOUNDTRACK]" by Richard Gibbs
The Season One disk is enigmatic and fascinating.
I didn't really like this new tv series at first..."Space Drama...oh boy...," I thought... I only watched it because it sandwiched the SG-1 shows.
I'll get to the point. The music keeps getting better and better with every episode, so much so that I have become spellbound by this show. It's the music that does this to you. It couldn't possibly be more perfect. Bear Mccreary is a genius. I have often thought to myself that I could probably be a successful soundtrack composer, but after listening to this Soundtrack and the new standard it sets, I wouldn't want to embarrass myself now...
Bear McCreary uses a huge spectrum of sounds: from simple and complex drum beats, Celtic sounds, Middle-Eastern flutes, to creating compositions that would even impress Bach: 24. Passacaglia, 27. Shape of Things to Come. His timing for soft silence is also perfect and used appropriately: 19. Baltar Panics, 14. Baltar Speaks With Adama, each creates suspense without overwhelming your senses with cheap shock. Congratulations to Bear for creating an amazing, suspenseful, progressive composition which smoothly transitions complex storylines and subplots with perfection.
I am very eager to see how the music on this show progresses...
