Free Music Notes for Battlestar Galactica: Season Two

Free Music Review: Now for something completely different
Hit: 5 Stars

What can I say -CD2 builds and improves upon CD1. Gone are some of the composers tendencies to over indulge in some of the "stranger" wind instruments and other pieces of music. The CD still hold some of the most unique soundtrack music you will ever here but now it is more edited and tighter. The Main piece, a riff on the Old Galactica theme is actually amazing and is worth the cost of the CD alone. "Prelude to War" and some fo the other pieces associated with the season 2 cliffhanger will get you hair to stand up it is so exciting. You want one soundtrack that will keep your interest this is the one- pick up CD1 if u like worth the price of admission.

Free Music Review: Bear takes the tiger by the tail...
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the better soundtracks that you can experience, TV, Movie, or otherwise. I can only imagine the obstacles that McCreary encountered, and by taking the tiger by the tail, Bear created a near-masterpiece of sound and rhythm.

With the great writing, cast, and presentation of BSG, it's very easy to overlook the impact that music had upon the series. As I return and watch the episodes once again, I pay special attention to the background tracks, which definitely enhance the overall experience.

Episodic, evocative, and melodic...this is one terrific CD that you can listen to over and over again. Well done by all involved!

Free Music Review: beautiful
Hit: 5 Stars

i am listening to something dark is coming at this moment and it is just amezing...beautiful in a dark misterious way...i just can not stop listening to it..it feels like a drug addiction that takes you to a parallel sureal world and you can not awake...mccreary has done a wonderful job of really playing with my emotions when it comes to music that is on bsg season 2 soundtrack...but this song has a special place in my heart.....you just need to sit down, relax, put it on, little bit louder and listen to it...in no time you will be somewhere else...somewhere far..feeling much better in a dark misterious way, the same way the song is...beautiful way....

Free Music Review: Exciting, moody and emotional - all in one CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I've never seen a single episode of the 'new' Battlestar Galactica and I doubt I ever will. I bought the music out of curiosity. While I quite liked Richard Gibb's score to the initial mini series (and McCreary's Season 1 CD),the Season 2 music beats them all.

A mix of styles from synth to orchestral to rock guitar and percussion....and yet it works. I don't know how it works with the images on the tv screen but as a CD listening experience it works very well indeed. It's exciting when it needs to be and yet emotional and intimate as well.

Very impressive scoring, and an extremely well produced CD.

Free Music Review: I bought the CD for just 1 track!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I've just sat through both seasons of the show on DVD - one episode after the other (yes, my eyes hurt and I need some sleep) - the joys of being unemployed! - and although many characters, scenes and themes were outstanding, the one song I couldn't get out of my head was in the opening scenes of the finale to season 2...

It's Track 10 on this CD and it's now on a seemingly perpetual loop in my CD player! The rest of the album is also good, as other reviewers have stated, but this one track is etheral, dark and brooding - it sums up the coming darkness perfectly and sets up series 3 nicely!
