I am so in love with the Galactica series, and this cd (+ the seasons one and three) makes it possible to see the episodes when you close your eyes and just listen. Bear McReary has truly managed to find the atmosphere for everything that takes place on the battlestar and its surroundings. Do yourself a favor, order this soundtrack. Battlestar Galatica, the series, needs to be discovered by EVERYONE. It is expertly crafted, lovingly handled, by everyone involved. What really makes this series SHINE is the music. Put this soundtrack on and let your mind wander the inner reaches of outer space! It is a wonder! Gentle rifting melodies, strings that will make your heart soar, punctuated by perfectly placed drumming beats... I think that Bear McCreary has lifted TV soundtracks to a wholely different level. Even if you do not find yourself glued to the television for every episode of Battlestar Galactica, you will find yourself playing this CD over and over again. The music is powerful, moving, ethereal, tribal, complex and fascinating all at the same time. McCreary has done something amazing here that goes beyond the television show. You can hear and feel the emotion these songs represent. I wholeheartedly recommend this soundtrack to anyone who likes music. It's that appealing.Free Music Review: Better than the first

The music is more enveloping and full of emotion.
There is a mournful undercurrent to much of the cd but yet there is still hope especially in songs like Pegasus.
With the exception of Reuniting the Fleet, for personal reasons, i think every song on this album is fantastic.
Most choice cuts are, in no order: Something Dark is Coming, Scar, Pegasus, Prelude to War, One Year Later, Lords of Kobol amd Black Market.

Absolutely one of the best soundtrack CDs ever put together. I loved the season 1 CD and this one is even better! All the music is outstanding but my favorite two are "Something Dark is Coming" and "Prelude to War". These tracks alone are worth the price. As an FYI, if you are looking for the piano piece from "Valley of Darkness" you will find it on the Philip Glass Solo Piano album. The song is called Metamorphosis Five.
