I've seen most of the episode that this soundtrack was composed for so I thought that I knew what I was getting when I purchased this but what I got has completely surpased my expectations... Bear has done it again. While I was originally drawn to his drum-heavy music used for the combat sequences of the show, there are other good tracks that kept this album fresh. An outstanding compilation of music from Season 2 of Battlestar Galactica. I also own Season 1, and this CD picks up where Season 1's left off. An interesting item to note is that some of the Season 2 songs are derivations of Season 1 songs. Highly recommend for Battlestar Galactica fans!Free Music Review: Bear McCreary is amazing!

This is my favorite BSG soundtrack, particularly "Prelude to War" (#17). The orchestration varieties and emotionalism of the music continue to be quite powerful (and entertaining) and make the music strong enough to stand on its own without even needing to be attached to the show.Free Music Review: Incredible

The music is gorgeous and very well done. The CD puts all of the music together in a way that showcases each piece and enhances it. I was a little disappointed that the piano piece from "Valley of Darkness" wasn't included, but otherwise, I don't think it could have been better.
