You really have to respect the Beastie Boys. Since 1986, they've been releasing music that explores ground from whiny rap-rock to Dr. Seuss cut-and-paste insanity to jam-band-that-raps, and now to the old-school yet very new-school sound of "Hello Nasty". They've also kept the quality remarkably high; "Hello Nasty" is either the Beastie's second-best or third-best album (behind "Paul's Boutique" and possibly "Check Your Head"). The rap tracks are consistently great, with highlights like "Super Disco Breakin'", "The Move", "Three MCs and One DJ", "Unite", and the monster crossover singles "Intergalactic" and "Body Movin'". They even find time to travel into the worlds of techno ("And Me"), dub ("Dr. Lee, PhD"), and acoustic guitar songs ("I Don't Know"). It's always nice to see people continue to experiment, and it's even nicer to see the experiments succeed so well.Free Music Review: Great Album.

I don't have any other Beastie Boys CD, so this is not a biased review(well, to me.) This album was done very well. I didn't expect songs like "Picture This", "And Me", and "I Don't Know" to be done by the B Boys, but I still enjoyed 'em. I've only expected the B Boys to make rap/hiphop-style songs, but the 9 or 10 songs that AREN'T in that style are rather good. Having never heard a previous Beastie Boys album(except 1 or 2 songs), I consider this a great CD and would recommend it to people like me (who haven't heard their other CD's, that is). If they continue releasing albums that are like this one, I'll be there to buy them.
Interesting Note: I saw the "Intergalactic" video one day, then saw it again the next day. That second day, I went out and bought the CD. I went home, listened to it, then went to the Beastie Boy's web page. Funny thing, I bought the CD the same day it was released without knowing it. Pretty c! ool... or something...

I purchased this CD awhile ago and was impressed with it. I have ALWAYS loved the bboys and always will. They have lasted all this time and never let us down with sh@#ty music. So let me get something straight then: why are there people on this review giving them one star? These guys are incredible! They totally got it going on! There music is funky and groovy and makes me want to dance and laugh at the same time. To the dallas texas cowboy who is dissing: what are you smoking? Get a life. You obviously don't know the difference between "good" and "bad" music. And the person from los angeles who said JUVENILE was good quality rap, pleazzzzzzzze! are you kidding me!!?? the beastie boys are a lot more than someone hopping around saying "ha" all the time! the dude sounds like he's constipated or something. Beastie Boys Were The First People I Ever Started Listening Too. The First Two CD's I Ever Got Were Licensed To Ill And Hello Nasty. That Was Over 6 Years Ago When I Was Only 13 And Hello Nasty Is Still One Of My Favorite CD's. Pretty Much Every Track With The Beastie Boys Rapping On It Is A Good Track (I Don't Include The Instrumental Tracks Which Are On Most Beastie Boys CD's). They Tried Something Brand New With This CD And That's Working With More Different Type Beats And The CD Sort Of Sounds Techno Mixed With Rap And Instrumentals. Some Good Songs Are; Super Disco Breakin', Move, Remote Control, Just A Test, Body Movin' (This Song Is Different From The Video, The Video Is A Remix By Fatboy Slim), Intergalactic, Putting Shame In Your Game, Three MC's And One DJ, The Grasshoper Unit (Keep Movin'), Electrify, And Unite (This Is My Favorite Song On The CD). all you people who say this is trash i dont know what you're talking about for those of you who realize that the beastie boys are beyond the trendiness of "brass monkey, girls and fight for your right" or see they are more broad in their ventures than "sabotage, time to get ill, or heart attack man" realize what you are saying the Beastie Boys are and amazing group that were rocking bums before 1/2 of you could even walk. They have an awesome sound that is incomparible to any other group all of their c d 's are different and if you are narro mindedly into one type of music you might not enjoy this c d if you ask me this disc is creative genius and rocks just as hard if not harder than their past work a different disc for a different day is what i usually live by for the beasties but this disc gets me through every one im a HUGE beastie fan love all their work and im telling you THIS CD IS WORTH IT
