Free Music Notes for Hello NastyFree Music Review: Too sweat to be sour too nice to be mean Hit: 5 Stars
I have loved the beastie boys since as long as I can remember. I'll never forget when I was seven years old and saw Fight For Your Right (to party) on MTV. It caught my eye, and I have loved the beastie boys ever since. Their best cd though to me is still and always will be Paul's Boutique. But Hello Nasty pulled through and is definetly music that we will be bopping our heads to in the years 2000 and 2002. Mix Master Mike and Money Mark are great on the turntable and keyboards. My favorite track is The Grasshopper Unit. If you have like the previous music of the beastie boys, then definetly buy Hello Nasty. It has more instrumental tracks on it, which their instrumental work is one of my favorites that the bboys do. It's a plus all the way.
Free Music Review: Hello Nasty brings the old school hip-hop sound back. Hit: 5 Stars
If you're looking for an album that's a completely new sound, then the Beastie Boy's hello nasty is not for you. This album is however a masterpiece in its own way. It mixes together those European trip-hop sounds with the United States Run DMC syle of old school hip-hop. The Beastie Boys, who are now in their thirties, manage to somehow cut up the turntables and mix the beats like they did during the days of old. For those trendy BBoy fans who only want another song like Sabotage, get lost! You won't find any punk-rock here. Finally, I think the main reason this album flows so well is because the BBoys create the illusion of simplicity with their lyrics that we'd expect to contradict the sophisticated music that surrounds them.
Free Music Review: Hello Beasties! Their new album is definately a Nasty one! Hit: 5 Stars
Even though the Beastie Boys aren't re-inventing the world's notion of Rap-funk infused Rock with Hello Nasty, they prove that they are not unlike a fine wine. It's like Check Your Head and Ill Communication were just interludes during the follow up to Paul's Boutique. Gone are the heavily distorted vocals and hard-core tracks but back are pure BEATS AND RHYMES. There are moments on the album when they calm down a bit with some bossanova and Yauch's gentle ballad " I don't know" but but track's like "Unite," "Intergalactic" and "This is Just a Test" prove that there is still so much rapping yet to be done. I can't wait to get a hold of copy that actually has a case, cover, and liner notes.
Free Music Review: Tight-Very! Hit: 5 Stars
Now this is definetly one album that the beasties are really gettin "biz on the crop." this is such a good album...it has such phat beatz and rhythms that make it sooo perfect. With the money making skills of Mike D, The spiritual rapping of MCA, and the loaded weapon Adrock, this album can't get much better. All the songs are tight, and can definetly be easily defined. Adrock is so good on the SP1200, he makes all the songs sound like real drum beats. And it's hard to tell that it's really a drum machine on a lot of songs! Even the softer ones like "I Don't Know" really kick this album into high gear. If you don't have it yet, well then get up and get it right now...it'll definetly be much worth it...
Free Music Review: Solid Beasite Boys FLAAAAVA Hit: 5 Stars
'Hello Nasty' by the Beastie Boys is one of their best offerings ever put down. With this album the Beasties felt like they were as solid as they ever were and you could just get the general feel that they really enjoyed making this album. Even the commercially friendly tracks such as 'Intergalactic' and 'Body Movin' could be enjoyed by the alternative masses, and there are plenty of other tracks here ~20 in total with all sorts of different styles that many a fans will appreciate the smooth sounds coming out of their speakers.
If you like Rap and/or alternative hip-hop you owe it to yourself to pick up 'Hello Nasty' and enjoy one of the most unique bands in the genre.
***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
