Free Music Notes for Live at the BBCFree Music Review: Another piece of the Beatle evolution Hit: 5 Stars
I purchased this expecting what I got, more of the foundations of the Beatles' evolving and historic music making style. The silly, sometime annoying banter, before and between some tracks is nice the first time around; then become increasing in need of being edited out. I think it is worth every penny to hear these tunes in the "raw" state of the live setting. Great for the fan and "to be" fan, a definite CD to have!
Free Music Review: I am thrilled that this has been reissued!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This supurb album was released in 1994, and shocked the music world by selling in the millions, then was taken off the market so as not to interfer with the "Anthology " series. This is the Beatles doing material unavailable anywhere else, it's all wonderfull, and by the way, man, did these guys have a sense of humor... listen to the bits of talking between some of the songs. 5 stars!!!
Free Music Review: Classic Beatles From a More Innocent Time Hit: 5 Stars
I can remember back to when you had to track down bootlegs of this exact material, and those CDs didn't have the announcer guy, whose spoken byplay with the Beatles adds a lot of reality and charm. Also, the booklet is rich in notes, details, data, etc. A great new--well, relatively new--way to get more Beatles than the albums they actually produced together in the studio. Very enjoyable stuff.
Free Music Review: BBC recordings 1962-1965 Hit: 5 Stars
This is a collection of Beatles songs on BBC radio between 1962-1965. It includes self composed songs and classic numbers performed by the Beatles. These are LIVE radio tracks, only one or two songs are live in concert. There are funny speeches and jokes as well. This CD was out of print for sometime but has been back in print since I bought it in June 2001. This is a must for any Beatles fan.
Free Music Review: Innocence and Authenticity Hit: 5 Stars
Those two words sum up why I enjoy this disc even more than the 3 Anthologies. Listening to it I can envision being a girl in 60's England listening to the BBC. The Beatles really seem to be having a lot of fun, and the performances are outstanding. I get chills hearing their cover of "Soldier of Love". A must have for anyone's collection to understand what it was all about.
