Free Music Review: You don't have to speak the language to understand
Hit: 5 Stars

A friend played this CD for me on my last visit to Paris and I now associate Paris with Bebel's Tanto Tempo CD...even though she's Brazilian and the music is not Parisian. It just fit the time and place. You don't have to understand a word of what she's singing to understand what she's saying. I know nothing about Bossa Nova or Brazilian music but I got what she was portraying in these soulful and emotive songs. Just incredible and can put you in such a great positive mood! A must have for your collection if you are open to varied music tastes.

Free Music Review: A beautiful blend of old and new
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is thoroughly enjoyable. Bebel has a lot to live up to: the daughter of Joćo Gilberto and Miucha (a well-known bossa nova singer in her own right), and niece of the great Chico Buarque (Miucha's brother). And she passes with flying colors. This CD is very warm, and a great combination of old-school bossa nova and modern sounds. I usually stay away from the more modern, loop-and-sample based music (being an old-school bossa fan myself), but this CD is a perfect blend. Not to mention Bebel scores high in the songwriting department.

Free Music Review: MAGNIFICENT ALBUM
Hit: 5 Stars

It'd been a long time since we hadn't had the opportunity to have a great Bossa Nova-Jazz fusion album from Brazil. Bebel, faithful to the Singing brazilian school, delights us with amazing phrasing and swing in every cut. For someone who noted that Bebel did not have perfect pitch, I'd like to let him know that brazilian style uses half-tones, modulation-variations, stecattos etc. etc. that Bebel masters as anybody could. This is w/out a doubt, a must-have for brazilian music fans or anybody interested on great music. Thanks Bebel.

Free Music Review: And now for something completely different
Hit: 5 Stars

Anyone mildly interested in this CD will notice just by glancing at a few of these reviews that the people who have it either love it or adore it. This is music that caresses your soul. Why deny yourself that pleasure? Buy it, already! Four DeMilleian henchmen can't all be rowing!

On a related note (mostly by nationality), if you're looking for something else to broaden your musical horizons, get Brasileiro, by Sergio Mendes (and if you're thinking Scarborough Fair, prepare to be blown away).
