Free Music Review: long and sad but smooth

...i have always been a huge beck lover and so i quickly bought this cd. When i first began to listen to the songs i was really excited because beck has gone back to blues and melody, but, as the songs continued, I began to loose interest in the slow beauty of the cd. it seemed a bit long and repetitive. not too original. each of the songs (with the exception of maybe two) sound like that slow last song that we all love on many awesome rock albums. but would they be so great if that is all the cd consisted of? - and the thing that i miss the most are his crazy lyrics. some of the songs sound like they could actualy be written by a normal song writer. but it still may grow on me more as i listen. and i really am glad that he has left his [other style] on "midnight vultures" for a more blues style -he also left some of the funk though. and replaced it with some trippy slowness that i don't dislike...
so four stars to this sweet cd, and i am looking forward to continuing to listen and dig into the meloncholly of beck's new album.
