Free Music Notes for Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound TrackFree Music Review: Takes us back into the golden age of the 70's Hit: 5 Stars
This original movie soundtrack of the 1977 classic masterpiece takes us back into the golden age of the 70's.
Beginning with the immortal and always popular Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees and followed by the laidback How Deep Is Your Love , it includes soul sounds like 'If I Can't Have You' by Yvonne Elliman and 'More Than A Woman' by Tavares . The album also includes classic rock pieces like Manhattan Skyline by David Shire. It is a glittering piece of the 70's which will re-introduce the genre to younger listeners.
Lots of fun to get you dancing. A great piece for a party , as much today as it was in the 70's.
Free Music Review: Damn..what an album! Hit: 5 Stars
I believe in giving credit where it's due.The Bee Gees piece of this album (4 new songs and 1 song from the year B4) alone make this a classic. But you add "Boogie Shoes" (Originally a K.C & The Sunshine Band B-Side),Yvonne Eliman's "If I Can't Have You" (The original Bee Gees' version was the B-side to the "Stayin' Alive" single and can be found on "Greatest") and the sublime, long version of "Disco Inferno" and you have a pretty good album.
Originally released as a double album late 1977,today's CD technology allowed it to be released on one CD.
I only spoke of 8 songs, that leaves 9 more really not bad songs.
Free Music Review: 6 stars! For DAILY listening! Hit: 5 Stars
Without doubt, this one deserves the highest, most unashamedlysentimental accolades. Trawling throught the list of ... reviews(41 pre mine) one is struck by the consistently exuberant praise SNFgets from all - from Nigeria to Canada to the US of A, and now fromthis South African globetrotter. Pure, unadulterated excellencefrom top to bottom. And the David Shire tracks deserve as much, perhaps more praise than the rest. Night of Disco Mountain - I saythis without shame - ranks in my mind as a flawless, timeless musicaljewel. (Kudos to Mussorgsky too!) A force for humanupliftment. Essential to life itself!
Free Music Review: Disco is ALIVE!!!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
What a classic this album really is. Not for the second half but for the first half it's an absolute classic. There are songs written by the Bee Gees and they just get better and better as it goes on. It's sold over thirty million albums and is the biggest selling album of all time and the no. 2 album after Michael Jacksons "Thriller" album. The Bee Gees were the ONLY disco group worth listening to. The great thing is disco really is alive and well in 2002! Dozens and doezens of groups and singers have had disco hits in the past seven years in Europe, which is great. May it live forever! Death to Rock!!
Free Music Review: Yes! YES! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the album that showed the nation that disco was the best kind of music. Played by the Bee Gees, plus a few others, this album's radiant style of disco will live through the ages. While many say disco sucked and was the embarrasment of the nation, I disagree. I feel folk-rock from the 1960's was the bane of music. The beats are funky and danceable, the vocals are, well, mousy (well, you wanted the Bee Gees), and just everything about the album makes it timeless. It is one of those albums, like Nirvana's Nevermind, or the Beatles' White Album that is owned by everyone on earth for good reason.
