Free Music Notes for Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound TrackFree Music Review: simply the best, the first I own..... Hit: 5 Stars
This is the first album that I owned of the Bee Gees. I grew up in the 70's listening to their music. Songs like Stayin Alive and Jive Talkin are classics and still heard today. Shame on the music industry for passing up this album for any awards including best video. I stumbled on this album because I was a fan of Andy Gibb. Anybody who is a big fan of the Bee Gees should buy this album you won't be dissappointed. Yes, to me it's still the best selling soundtrack and took the pop industry by storm. To me they are better than the Beatles because of their diversity. Happy listening.
Free Music Review: DISCO LIIIIIVES!!!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I remember when this movie came out...I snuck in to see it because I was only 14 at the time, and I was praying to God that Disco would still be around when I was old enough to get into one. I think it's hilarious now that when I go out to a dance club, a Bee Gees song will still pack the dance floor faster than any other boy band. This album is still better than anything that the pop music industry is churning out today, and it's also amazing since it's considered the first soundtrack that did as much as the script to advance the plot of a movie. It belongs in every music collection.
Free Music Review: You Should Be Dancing Hit: 5 Stars
Not only did Saturday Night Fever spearhead the disco craze, it kept it alive. I wonder how many people ran out to take disco lessons after it's release (I know I did). This album is simply the best. It features the greats of the Bee Gees like "Staying Alive", "How Deep Is Your Love" and "Night Fever". It also includes "If I Can't Have You" made popular by Yvonne Eliman and the classic "Boogie Shoes" by K.C. And The Sunshine Band among others. Buy the album and get your boogie shoes. You should be dancing!
Free Music Review: The Evolution of the Modern Soundtrack Began Here Hit: 5 Stars
Prior to 1977's "Saturday Night Fever," most motion picture soundtracks were of the orchestral variety with the occasional filmed Broadway musical album frequently offered. "SNF" changed all that with its club-ready and radio-friendly journey into the world of disco tied to a cinematic original. There is not an unfamiliar selection on the disc. This one is truly the "sound of a generation." The plethoras of artist-laden soundtracks that abound today owe an immense gratitude to the Brothers Gibb and company.
Free Music Review: An icon of music history! Hit: 5 Stars
This is that kindda music you cannot left behind. Maybe one of the best movies ever with the best music of that time, the best performance of Bee Gees and Co. for making this masterpiece. If we look for the best Soundtrack album, we'll surely vote for this one... no doubts about it!
Just some songs to be named: "Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever", "You Should Be Dancing", "How Deep Is Your Love", "More Than a Woman"... do we need more?
This is that kind of music that makes a film better, the perfect music for that film.
