Free Music Notes for Staying AliveFree Music Review: Loved the feel of the music... Hit: 4 Stars
After first seeing the trailer for Staying Alive I immediately was drawn into the music. Of course Saturday Night Fever was great, but this was even better, musically. The main theme and especially Cynthia Rhodes singing "Finding Out the Hard Way" - I can listen to that over and over and still be moved - are my favorites. Don't be mislead by poor movie reviews - the music is great! (By the way, I'm actually writing this review 20 years after the movie and soundtrack were released but just watched the movie again and was reminded of how great the music is.)
Free Music Review: Staying Alive is still alive Hit: 4 Stars
I recently "rediscovered" this CD after watching the movie on TV. Unfortunately the BeeGees sounded very dated & disco-ish...yuck. Frank Stallone's hauntingly tender "Moody Girl" was a breath of fresh air, and who can sit still listening to "Far From Over"? Tommy Faragher's "(We Dance) So Close to the Fire" has great lyrics. Thank God there were artists other than the BeeGees on this project. Why they got all the publicity is beyond me...but WHO had the #1 hit? (It sure wasn't Barry, Robin, or Maurice...)
Free Music Review: A Good Sequel, But Not There Best..... Hit: 4 Stars
I bought this album because of the songs that are sung by the Bee Gees. My favorite songs are "Woman In You" and "Breakout" which show there wonderful harmonies. There is at least 5 bee gees songs on this album which is great. The rest of the album is just filler to me. If you are a big bee gees fan sure buy this album if you want to hear something new. I'm not a big Frank Stallone fan or Cynthia Rhodes fan they just fall flat to me. Happy listening.
Free Music Review: Somewhat Disappointing Hit: 4 Stars
This soundtrack album has the talented Gibb touch in the first 6 cuts on this album, all written and recorded by the Bee Gees. Unfortunately, the rest of the album doesn't come near the genius quality of the talented brothers. It is worth buying if you want to complete your collection of work by the Bee Gees.
Free Music Review: Beautiful songs Hit: 4 Stars
I like this album very much even though there were just a half of Bee Gees' songs in that album. The melody of "Someone belonging to someone", "Woman in you" are so beautiful. I strongly recomend Bee Gees' fan should have this CD as your collection of Bee Gees.
