Free Music Review: A classic classic, in surround sound

Carlos Kleiber's 1970s recording of the Beethoven's Fifth with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is regarded as one of the most famous and significant recordings in the realm of classical music. And rightfully so. This performance by the VPO, under Kleiber's conducting, delivers a definitive interpretation of the symphony. As I'm sure that numerous positive reviews will have been posted already on the CD version of this recording, I will skip to the DVD-Audio's quality of this disc. It is superb. Although it was recorded in the 70s (and in analog), Deutsche Grammophon used multiple-channel recording technique that was excellently mastered into the advanced resolution surround sound format. As DVD-Audio is being phased out, I strongly recommend that you grab a copy before they're no longer printed, if you already own a DVD-Audio player.
