Free Music Review: The best of Hahn's recordings
Hit: 5 Stars

Having listened to all of Hahn's recordings, this coupling is the best. Hahn's sound is so intensely controlled and her intonation is much better than I expected. She plays the First movement of the Beethoven with dexterity and octaves runs as if they do not bother her at all. The straightforward confidence style of playing in the second was a welcoming surprise. Hahn's vibrato has developed finely since her Barber/Meyer recording. It is now more...suave than before. And the lucidity of the third is much better than the Bell version.
The Bernstein Serenade speaks for itself...It may be even better than the premier artist, Isaac Stern. But I cannot comment against my favorite artist

Free Music Review: A must have CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I love Hilary Hahn. I have listened to both of her cds, I have seen her play in person (with the Toledo Symphony) and she is AWESOME. I am a young violinst and this album really encourges me everytime I get frustrated during practice. Even if you aren't a classical music lover, you must have this album becasue it is WONDERFUL. I don't understand what those other people are saying about how she isn't miked up enough and all that stuff, because this is truly a PERFECT album and I love it and guarantee that you will too. :)

Free Music Review: HILARY HAHN PLAYS OTHER STUFF
Hit: 5 Stars

Hahn's purity of tone and endless exuberance carry over from her debut album, although these are not groundbreaking interprepations (as was her Bach). Her solo part should have been more closely miked; it sounds a bit distant, especially in the Beethoven concerto. She seems to do less lingering over the first note of phrases in this album - I hope this signals a trend. But nitpicking aside, Hahn has a mammoth talent that could establish her as the premiere violinist of her time, over time.

Free Music Review: Truly, one of the finest and most distinctive
Hit: 5 Stars

All my life I've collected recordings of the Beethoven Concerto for violin and orchestra. I know of no greater, more eloquent, melodic and memorable piece of music for the violin. This recording swept me off my feet. The pacing is hynotic, the tone is gorgeous, the performance very simply outstanding. It's exquisite what happens here. Now my favorite, hands down.

Free Music Review: Extraordinary Artist
Hit: 5 Stars

I recieved this cd as a gift this christmas, and i was thoroughly pleased with it. I would definitely recommend this CD to all who enjoy Beethoven. My favorite piece was the Bernstein, and I haven't stopped listening to it, nor will i, i imagine for a long time. Believe me, you will not regret buying this work of art!
