Free Music Review: WAY more than you'd think
Hit: 4 Stars

Let's face it: Dan Aykroyd LOVES the blues. The guy simply doesn't get enough credit for being a life-long supporter of the genre. His hosting of the House of Blues Radio Hour remains the most important blues radio show of the past 20 years. This time out, Dan smartly leaves the "Blues Brothers" name behind, and joins up with old friend Jim Belushi (and a great big band featuring former Bonnie Raitt guitarist Johnny Lee Schell). There are some really fine performances here--Belushi has obviously taken some vocal lessons after his horrific performance on the "Live from the House of Blues" Blues Brothers CD recorded in Chicago a few years back. It's also the best recorded and mixed independent blues CD I've purchased in a long time. The sound is absolutely pristine. You can tell the stars and the band are having BIG FUN during the making of this effort, and it's contagious to the listener. Cheap at twice the price; buy anything with the name Aykroyd on it. He's a dyed in the wool bluesman.

Free Music Review: somewhat original
Hit: 4 Stars

I've always got a kick out of the blues brothers and I would recommend this cd to both snl fans and lovers of classic r&b/blues & rock......Having read some of the other reviews, I would like to point out a fallacy. This is NOT mostly original. There are some original tunes but over half are cover versions. In fact, nine of the thirteen songs are covers. I listed them below with the original recording artists-
Have Love, Will Travel-Richard Berry (of Louie Loiue fame)
Dig Myself A Hole-Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup
Time Won't Let Me-The Outsiders
Polk Salad Annie-Tony Joe White
300 Pounds Of Joy-Howlin Wolf
All She Wants To Do Is Rock-Wynonie Harris
Greenbacks-Ray Charles
Swinging Party-Lowell Fulsom
Driving Wheel-Roosevelt Sykes
Aykroyd & Belushi never tried to take credit for songs performed as the Blues Brothers and I don't think they would do so now.

Free Music Review: Finally!
Hit: 4 Stars

As a native Chicagoan with a zesty zeal for blues, this album certainly delivers something. For those of you who don't know, Dan Aykroyd used to be a musician in a band called Blues Brothers with John Belushi, who recently passed away. His brother, Jim, has faithfully taken up his mantle wihtout skipping a beat. Jim took some time from his hit tv show "Accordian Jim" to team up with Dan Aykroyd to record this scaldingly hot album. Songs like, "All She Wants to do is Rock" and "Polk Salad Annie" give me the blues so bad my ears actually hurt, and I had to stop listening for a moment to collect my thoughts. The song "300 pounds of joy" actually refers to one of Dan Aykroyd's thighs. A must buy for any fan of real Chicago blues.

Free Music Review: Aykroyd explores as Belushi grows.
Hit: 4 Stars

For this album, Aykroyd and Belushi Step back from the Blues Brothers mythos to preform a different kind of blues as the "Have Love Will Travel Review." Fans of the Blues Brothers will enjoy the rehashing of "All She Wants to do is Rock", while new listeners will enjoy the upbeat feel of such songs as "Dig Myself a Hole" and "Cadillac Man". This album lets Aykroyd explore another side of his musical tastes while allowing Belushi to step out of the shadow established by his brother's preformance as Jake Blues. Unfortunantly, this album seems to fall flat on "300 Pounds of Joy". All in all it's worth the purchase for any fan of blues, soul, and swing.

Free Music Review: the blues brothers are back? Well not exactly
Hit: 4 Stars

Aykroyd and Belushi are back, this time leaving the Blues Brothers to the side to bring us a fresh sound and look.
If you like the Blues Brothers you will find this similar .
It is fun american music sung by two guys who love to have fun with it. The band is tight and it is a great party CD.
