I was a big Ben Folds Five fan and was upset that they had parted ways; that is until I bought this album. Right from the get go he keeps the energy up. I liked most of the songs EVEN BETTER than the studio versions. I could listen to this all day and not get sick of it. If you like Ben Folds or Ben Folds Five, this is a must have. Standout tracks Emeline and Fred Jones Part 2 (with John McCrea from Cake doing the harmonies). Also, the DVD is very cool. If you've never seen Ben play live then you are in for a treat with Song for the Dumped.

I kind of stumbled upon this CD 2 weeks ago. I have not been able to stop listening to it or turn the DVD off. This guy is amazing - how come he is not more well known? Someone said he makes Billy Joel look like a lounge act, and that is no exaggeration. True talent of ANY performer is how they stand up SOLO, and this guy has the chops, wit, talent, ability and proves it on every track. I just ordered the entire back catalog and scalped second row at the Beacon NYC 12/4 and am buying this CD/DVD for my each family member for Christmas.Free Music Review: Unbelievable Album

This album is suitable for Ben and Ben Folds Five fans AND anyone who plays the piano, or likes piano-based music. Ben's skills on the piano are shown in nearly every song, particularly "The Last Polka", "Philosophy", "Narcolepsy" and "One angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces". In fact, every song on this album is great. Having seen him live on the tour that these tunes were compiled from, I'd say that it captures the energy and the emotion of a live show well. If you love Ben Folds, or even if you think you might be interested in hearing some of his work: BUY THIS CD! I love this CD and I am so glad I decided to buy a copy, even though Los Angeles isn't one of the featured tracks (incidentally, i was at that concert). Ben Folds is a genius, a funny, insightful pianist with a lot of baggage and a lot of catchy songs. Even if you own every cd from Ben Folds Five up until Ben's last cd, buy this... you get commentary from Ben on each song, as well as a DVD included with the audio CD.Free Music Review: Wow. this cd is fantastic, the recording and how Ben works with the audience (see Army) is just great. I saw him over the summer w/ rufus wainwright and guster and he did Army the same way he did on this cd and it was just one of those moments that will live with you forever, it was just so cool. and he is jsut as good live like that as he is on this cd. my favoirte song on this cd is probably his version of Emaline or One Down such fantastic songs, i recommend this cd to all ben folds(five) fans and fans not of ben even
