I had never heard of Ben Harper before he was mentioned in a chat room i was in, likeing what was being said I went off to see what i could find at my local record shop and came home with this. I was blown away with what i heard, the intensity of the music really can move you. I would, without any doubt, recommend this to any one who appreciates real music not that crap that seems to be so popular with the kids today. No one I know had ever heard of Ben Harper before i brought this c.d but I'm trying to put that to rights now and tell the world what a musical genius Ben is!Free Music Review: M'm... Ben...

I've been looking over these reviews, and a common complaint has emerged. "Why can't all the songs be like 'Stel my kisses'? Waaa! Waaa!" Well, I'm here to say that I actually, gasp, like the fact that there is only one 'Steal my kisses' on this album. And furthermor, I like the fact that each and every song sounds different. This album is incredible. Every last second of it. You people need to open your minds, and more importantly, your souls. Each person on this earth could benfit from a little Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals. I would bet $53.67 that if they played Ben Harper and T.I.C.in schools, violence levels among teens would drop drastically. So there. And for the person who said Ben put her to sleep, maybe you should go check out the new Backstreet Boys album. It seems that kind of talent appeals to you. And while you're out, you should pick up "The Will to Live" (by Ben Harper), "Fight for your mind" (by Ben Harper) and "Welcome to the Cruel World" (by Ben Harper). If "Burn to Shine" put you to sleep, then this will take care of 100 years of insomnia. Yeah, it's that good folks!Free Music Review: Music for the soul....

Ben brings an eclectic mix of soul, rock, blues, and various international influences into his music. With his very talented band, the Innocent Criminals, he is always changing musically and spreading his message of peace with original songwriting and meaningful lyrics. If you are looking for a new artist to expand your views and musical horizons and someone who has substance then you definitely should check him out! I would say he is one of the most talented songwriters of this decade and even this generation!!Free Music Review: A true legend

I am extremley glad that you are reading these words because you are more then likely giving thought to purchasing a Ben Harper CD and I will tell you right now, get your money out now. Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals play every note of music contains an essence beautiful, elegancy, political agression, spirituality, and deeply felt lyrics. You cannot put a Ben Harper's music into a "genre", he covers so much ground that it is hard to fathom; acoustic rock, blues, jazz, reggage, and just plain rock n' roll. It doesn't matter which album that you chose to spend your money on because they are all full of brilliant talent. I recently went to see them play and I was brought to tears during their set due to the raw emotion that can be felt when Ben sits down in his easy chair and plays his guitar. Ben Harper is one the best guitarists to ever grace the earth and if you don't enjoy his music, then you must not know too much about music at all.Free Music Review: And on the 8th day God created Ben Harper........

If you like music, not this synthetic crap thats on the charts now, but real, soul driven rock n roll, Ben Harper is your man. The versatility shown on this album is astounding with each song being a perfect compliment to the song preceding it. Ooooohhhh, I love it. If you have blood in your veins and a brain in your head this album will go straight to your heart to never be forgotten.
