Free Music Review: Diamonds on every tune
Hit: 5 Stars

Thank God for Mr. Harper. He keeps getting better and better and stronger and stronger. From the Reggae anthem of the first song, to the sheer beauty of the final song, everything on this album is brilliant. What a great, great band he has. They jam out and transition to acoustic so superbly. Harper is a complex, genius of a songwriter who weaves wonderful tapestries throughout.
His politics, his religion, his insights sparkle like the diamonds he mentions.
The world is a better place with Ben Harper in the musical firmament.

Free Music Review: a definite diamond
Hit: 5 Stars

sure, the disc may be a little un-focused, but isnt that what makes music interesting? from past experiences, i have learned that the label given to a cd (rock/pop...ect) isnt really related to the what the songwriter/singer had in mind in the first place. a true musician is one that doesn't always look to the labels placed, but rather looks to what the music is actually about and the meanings behind it. i hope that the conclusion that this is a beautiful piece of work, will be reached by many.

Free Music Review: Did Some Of You Get The Wrong 5 Stars

I just don't get some of the reviews of this cd. This is Possibly Ben's best to date: much better than the scattershot,
lousily produced Burn To Shine, Slightly more cohesive than The Will To Live, miles Above Welcome to the Real World and Fight For Your Mind. There just isn't a throwaway here, every track is strong, but Amen Omen could be Ben's best track. Like The Will To Live, there is a not so hidden spiritual agenda here, and it seems like Ben works best in that frame of mind.

Free Music Review: Awesome Addition to my Harper Collection!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love this new album. I went right after school and picked up a copy. Best thing I've done in a while! Every song is COMPLETLY different. Ranging from Funk to Rock to Gospel, this album has it all. While in comparison to his earlier CD, this one is not quite as good as some of the older stuff like from "Welcome To The Cruel World", but it is still better than all the stuff out there today! If you have the means, I highly reccomend picking up one :)

Free Music Review: Soulful, but fun!
Hit: 5 Stars

I know what I like. And I like this album, particularly the first 3 tracks, but only because I am having a hard time not listening to them to get to the rest. I have read other reviews in which this album was criticized for being "inconsistent" or eclectic, but that is a closed mind speaking. This album reminds me, and has been compared to both here and in magazine reviews, in that respect of Paul Simon's Graceland. It's range is why it is such a good album.
