Free Music Notes for Diamonds on the InsideFree Music Review: Jack of all trades Hit: 5 Stars
Master of all. As funky as Prince and George Clinton and as folky as Dylan and Cat Stevens. This guy does it all and better than most. It would be very risky for most artists to cover so many genres on one album and remain credible. Ben Harper manages to put his mark on each tune so that they flow seamlessly into one another. I am sorry that it took me so long to give this guy a chance. I will be picking up his back catalog, no doubt.
Free Music Review: Closed Minded People Hit: 5 Stars
All I can say about Ben Harper is that his music is Incendairy, His lyrics and music put together make a combination that is unequaled in music. It is funny how people judge, making assumptions on how music "should sound" but in reality music is meant for one thing, to touch your soul, and Mr. Harper does what he does better than many musicians, eg. Punk Rock... two chords, to make a song? how is that possible?
Free Music Review: The full spectrum Hit: 5 Stars
This is an excellent CD, period. Ben has such a variation of songs, and a variation of talents. He can do everything, funk, rock, reggae, accoustic, and just about everything else I didn't mention. Simply amazing. Ben is also one of the least known, but most talented artists of our time. Hopefully he will finally get the recognition that he deserves. Go buy this CD, you will not regret it.
Free Music Review: Ben Harper does it once again Hit: 5 Stars
Ben Harper is one of the most soulfull artists there is right now. I'm not going to get into much detail, but seing himdo "with my own two hands" on Lettermanlast night made me run out to Borders first thing this morning. As always with Ben and the Innocent Criminals, I am completely satisfied. Recommended to everyone who likes soul, gospel, reggae, folk, jam or just rock.
Free Music Review: The Best In A While Hit: 5 Stars
Words alone cannot describe this album, but if i had to choose one, it would be "amazing." This is truley one of the best albums I have heard in a long time. One might call it a gospel album, but don't let that stop you from picking this album up. I am not one to like gospel albums myself. From 'Amen Omen' to 'Bring the Funk,' you will not be disappointed in the least.
